when i was going home on my bus today we were just a few blocks away from the school and in front of us was this lunatic with no shirt on a bike drive all of the road, we went past him not even a minute later 2 cop cars came down the road, blocked him in and the biker hit the car and the 2 cops got out and started throwing punches at him for no reason. being right then and there felt like exhilarating, never seen cops in real life like that, not even on cops i don't recall. you guys?

I've seen it on the news before, which really gives them a bad image.

Which is kinda sad because they are supposed to protect the people, and I want to become one.

Some Cops try to use the law as a way to hit people....
They can make something up like he was resisting or w/e

Well alot of people hate on the police for being violent, corrupt or just annoying because they prevent you from consuming alcohol on a younger age, make you leave your skateboard spot, take your weed, moan about your carlights etc but that's just the image the police got nowdays. I think it's heavily exaggerated, because of all the violent and corrupt cops you see in the news, in movies and in games. In reality the cops are there to be the good guys.. At least I personally am proud of the police force here, it makes me feel more safe, and at times they put their lives on the risk for the citizens.

I'm currently studying integral safety, I might join the national force too when I'm done. Most likely behind a desk though.

i'm saying that i never seen police take someone down in Canada before. not even on TV, so to me it's like OMG OMG POLICE, FLASHING LIGHTS AND PUNCHES BEING THROWN AT A CRIMINAL!? ZOMG!?

seen some cops kick a guy off his bike and beat him pretty hard, i dont know what that guy did though, so no idea if they had a reason to do so =]

They made a small error in judgement,they probably thought it was Rodney King they were beating on.

I think opinions and reason behind hatred of the police differs depending on where you live. If your from some beautiful suburb and the pigs are always kicking you out of the country club for skating in the private parking lot your reason are going to be different from say someone who grows up in north philly where the neighborhood can get so bad the only times the cops do show up is to collect a kickback and harass the competition for shits and giggles.

just to bring an update to what i had seen, the guy actually robbed a store and stabbed the clerk just up the street and tried to bike away. just found this out today so i guess they had to use force ex punching him.

A few months ago I saw a drunk lady get busted by bicycle cops for throwing something at them, she got peppersprayed.

Yes I really do want to become a police officer. Going to college next year and I'm going to the police academy at the school, if everything works out well.
