I have played SRO since Server RedSea first opened and having played next to botters, for all my levels, I have grown a steady hatred towards them.

I feel every good, honest, respectful person in sro is a victim to this plague of unwanted cheaters.

So I have thought every day how to make problems for the botters and cheaters in this game and how to turn them into profits for the victims.


Simple Guide to Making money from Gold bots Version 1.0

One of the simplest ways to make money from gold bots comes from a practice which has been lost in time since GayMax started to ban gold bots. I am talking about Bot Traps.

How to profit from Bot Trap?

It is a quite simple concept really. Bots often traverse the same route to get to their grind spots. If you put an obstacle in their way that kills them they return to town and try again. Every time a bot dies it has a chance to drop any inventory item it holds. Now this is where it gets interesting.

Gold bots pick all items they can. Including large amounts of element items. God bots that leave west hotan for example pick a lot of element items that give large amounts of Wind 3, Earth 6, Wind 6. Current prices for these elements are ridiculously expensive and this is where you can make lots of money.

But surely bots do not drop very many element items... do they?

This is a common misconception as most people who make bot traps simply do it to try to act out some revenge against the bots themselves... damn clientless bots... But the bots actually drop huge amounts of element items as I will show you in this example;

I made a bot trap at West Hotan using 3 level 80 npc thieves. This is what I recieved in 35 minutes of doing the bot trap. This is over 1000 element items, This screenshot is JUST the stacks of 250 I made. I have more on my monkey!!!




So what you might say that is not much really... But your wrong... I broke all these element items and this is how many elements I recieved;




If you think that is not much then perhaps you should see what just Earth 6 and Water 6 is selling for;







So... Where to Create a Bot Trap?

The best place to make the most profit from a bot trap is at hotan west gate.(cap 90) But here is a general guide for where you should make a bot trap for your respective level;

Lvl 80-90 West Hotan(Mugiji bots, Penon bots, general Karakoram bots (bot lvls 54-66))
Lvl 70-80 East Hotan(East Hotan, Bunwhang bots (bot lvls 48-56))
Lvl 50-70 West,South Donwhang(Ravine bots & west dw bots (bot lvls 42 and below)
Lvl 40-50 East Donwhang(bot lvls 32 and below)

Hotan West (X-198, Y47) or (X-225, Y48) or Best spot(X-253, Y50)
Hotan East (X443, Y47) or (X429, Y48)

Donwhang West Best spot(X3219, Y2111) or (X3169, Y2111) or (X3049, Y2107)

So... How to Create a Bot Trap?

First of all any job character can effectively create a bot trap. The simple explanation of "how to" goes something like this; Get a trader(close to your level) to make trade with 1 or 2 stars and head outside town to wait for npc thieves to spawn. If you are a thief then find 1 or 2 stars loot and wait for npc hunter thieves to spawn. Then kill off any npc thieves EXCEPT any electricity bow hunter/thief npc you find.

The Electricity Bowman Npc thief/hunter has a magical attack that not only hits you but will pass damage on to other players. The electricity will pass on to two more people that are within range of you.

Once you have enough of these Electricity thieves attacking you(be smart use a shield =P) find the spot near your location that gold bots traverse through constantly (There is always a point where gold bots run to then stop for a period of 2-3 seconds before they move again).

Once you do this you will notice the gold bots die over and over and continue to spawn in town to run out to you to die.

*IMPORTANT TIPS*

1. Set your pet to grab all items that are "Equipment" and "Other items" but set it NOT to grab "Gold"
2. To collect more gold bots that are near you simply drop gold in 1 gold amounts on the ground. Gold bots are dumb and will come running to grab it only to run into your electricity and die.
3. If you make a party then make it "Exp auto share" + "Item Distribution" this way you recieve all items your pet grabs.
4. Be nice to the low level legit players who stop and say your cool, give them all the pots/return scroll your pet grabs, trust me there will be a lot of them!
5. Tell anyone around you not to interfere, preferrably be nice to them as any hostility usually results in high level retards turning up in job to try and kill you.
6. Real player Hunters and Thieves can actually make bot traps more effective when they work together. Thief npc electricity will not hit Real char thieves as Hunter npc electricity will not hit Real char Hunters. So they can even stand right next to each other.


*Conclusion*

This is an effective way to make good money from screwing with gold bots.
Use this method as much as possible!

If you have any ammendments to this guide please pm me or post below. I do realise the bot trap idea is an old idea however most people are highly unaware that it can be quite profitable. Negative comments are fine =p this is my first attempt at a guide to help the community to screw with bots =p

Love this guide. It shows me that you have a nice hatred for botters. People who think elements are useless really need to do some research. When I am not playing, i am normally stalling elements. I just started to break down stuff, and already made 24 million gold. Its simple to make money, just need to know how to do it.

What level would be good to start doing these bot traps for western / eastern hotan?

i love ur guides on messing with bots ur a good dude

i din't really get what is the point of doing it and what do i get from it

1. you kill bots.
2. They drop element items you can break to get elements.
3. Sell elements and make big Profit!

Or...

1. steal underpants
2. ....
3. profit!

P.S. This day I did this I made about 12mil in about 30-40mins bot trap.

now NPC thief only attack hunter/trader, is it?
even other character (player without flag) cnanot touch those NPC thief,
so, did NPC thief can kill players/bots?

maybe ur guide can use on the previous version. i guess legend 3 and above, it is not available.
and i cannot see anyone playing like what u said in nowadays.

in ALPS server, there is a character name zabady.
he collect every d9 weapon (buy it with 3M gold) and i asked him why and what purpose he want to collect 60 pcs d9 weapon. he told me, he might have a chance to own a sosun after have these much weapon.. Mind to share with me, is it really have these thing happen? wat i know is, if he buy 3m per weapon, 60 pcs means he had spend 180,000,000 for noob weapons d9.

NPC thiefs will only attack player hunters and traders.
NPC hunters will only attack player thieves


This guide is up-to-date and can be used currently at 90 cap.



I think this person is either retarded OR he was not talking about d9 weapons but instead the items from the last summer event. If he really is collecting noob d9 weapons then i feel sorry for him.



1.Check the prices of elements in stall network.
2.Then simply stall your elements you make from the bot trap at those prices.
3.Profit.

usually they come with hunter to kill npc or thief to kill me
and sometimes some people who simple want to stop it >_>
