I connected my Zune to a ipod usb power charger.

It worked, but i want to know is it safe to do this.

I see that the power charging ac adapter wall crap for the ipod is

=====> 5V ----- 1A

then i looked at the Zune and it charges with a

=====> 5V ----- 1.4A

So will it damage the Zune if i plug my Zune's usb to the ipod's a/c wall charging adapter?

I need people with experiences please, meaning they have used this for quite some time without having the Zune get dumb and dookie.

My little Zune story
Spoiler!

Be carefull doing that. I cant say 100% it will mess something up. But if you look at the theory of electricity i dont think it would be good for it.

Wow i might of learned something in college!!!

LOL.

I've done the same in the past. And no side affects as of yet. I probably used it for about 3 months before I got my Zune dock. However, I'd suggest rather than using an iPod charger to just get an external USB hub (that has a power plug). That way, you know your getting exactly USB 'power' and you can plug/charge more than one device with it. For example when my computer is off I can still charge my Zune (in its dock) and my GF's phone.

Something like this:

Although thats VERY cheap so I would go with something a little more expensive. I think mine was 17$ but it has a sexy blue LED that goes with the rest of my blue lights :P

wow, that's nice, i think i would use this "usb power plug" that i got from this "ipod" bundle lol

the charger doesn't really have a ipod logo on it, rather it is like only this usb charger with a little green light on it when i plug it into the socket
