today i noticed a weapon seems to be way more important then gear ..
I pvp ed a 81 warrior/warlock in robes with +3/4 gear and sos hands, he had a 80+7 2hand and +3/4 jewels .
I myself am a 82 warrior/cleric, with 4 light armor sos parts, 1 +5, one +4 with good stats, and +4/5 jewels, i have a +5 2hand.

His daredevil on me is around 6-7k > 6-7k... my daredevil on him is like 4-5k>4-5k

Anyone would have any idea why? i mean, my gear cost over 700m, his 2hand has value of around 150m.... T_T i just dont really understand it ^__^ maybe someone else does?

if ur gear cost 700m.. u got cheated hard

edit:

normal set + normal weapon vs normal set + normal weapon = same dmg
sos set + sos weapon vs sos set + sos weapon = same dmg
now, normal set + sos weapon vs sos set + normal weapon = same dmg because its a sos set vsing a sos weapon and normal set vsing normal weapon..

it will only be the same dmg if u have a full sos set, or near the same dmg cause of blues plus ect.

this will also apply with different pluses on items, e.g no point having one +7 part and the rest +5 it wont help u at all

Go shit.

\Ontopic

This depends of the type of char. If you are wizard the most important is the weapon, for hit all you can do until some1 can hit you. But if you are warrior your work is tank, and is more important your set, because the damage is compensated with the resistance and long combats.

that makes no sense...a rogue/cleric =/= rogue/lock...

If he landed any curses on you (bleed included), it would affect the damage output drastically. If not, then maybe his gear just has better overall percentages, or yours are just lower.

This is purely assuming they were just testing their damage on each other. If, however, they were having a full on pvp, then yes, statuses would effect the damage dealt and received.

Woah... Slow down a second buddy. Go take a rest and maybe see a doctor because you are delusional.

80+5 worth 150m? lol... Just, lol.
At the moment you could probably get a 85+7 for around that much.

As usual you are being a morron.

Secondly, we were purely testing, dint mean in pvp, no stattuses affected the damage.

@ RedBlueGreen, you dont seem to understand that its sos set + normal weapon, vs normal set + a weapon that has two plusses more then my own.
And since he is in robes, i am in Light armor, he has no prem and i do, that would surely make up for the two parts that i have +5 and +4 instead of sos.

Im just wondering how two plusses can affect his damage so much that he hits a lot more then i do ^^ while my gear is way better :) (even my mag is higher then his, while his gear is robe and im in LA so... T_T)

You're leaving out a lot of variables that could attest to your damage taken and given: did you have a premium, or did he? Was your opponent wearing an avatar, or were you? How were the blues on your gear and the blues on your opponents gear? Where the whites better on his gear than yours (esp. on accessories)? Is he more farmed than you? Lots of variables come into play when trying to figure out why you hit low/high or get hit low/high.

We are both fully farmed, i had premium, he dint, his blues were probs a little better, i miss 4 str, he missed 0 i believe, rest is all maxed basicly.
His jewels are +3/4, so i doubt they can be better then mine stats on my jewels are all pretty ok, and two are +5 two are +4.
Even if his whites were all 100%, my defence would still be higher, though.. his parry can be a bit higher, mine are 30-80%, one part has 4% but whatever :)

Erm, how many times did the two of you test damage, was it just once? Twice? Three times? How many?

Not only that, wut are the stats on the weapons being used? You sure its just +7? Or could it possibly be a +8? Cuz that would add another level of damage being dealt, what is your parry compared to his? What is your Attack Rating compared to his? What sort of passives are the two of you acquiring via your skill trees? What sort of gear are you wearing? Robe, Light Armor, or Heavy Armor? What buffs are being distributed? Are these crits?

Sorry.. just kinda adding on to what Scarlett mentioned. XD

since u both seem to have very similar gear with similar stats...i doubt it would make any difference in a normal pvp situation...although the parry difference maybe enough of the difference...but meh

Well, most points were allreaddy mentioned in the first post. i had prem, he dint, yes its +7, 40% phy i believe, or 42. my +5 is 30% phy, its pretty noob but owell, no buffs, no crits (ofcource), tested like 3 times, dint check parries, i dont know of any passives that you gain via warlock while having 2hand on, so i;dd say none :)

And we're assuming you both are wearing the same type of protector? Is he maybe wearing some higher level pieces? Tier 2 or 3 maybe?

Read the first post bro :)
I was in Light armor, 4 sos pieces, two second tier pieces one +5 one +4, level 80-82 jewels.
He had robes 5 +3/4 pieces second tier where possible, 76 sos wrists 78-80 jewels

ask for him for his stats "C"
also do NOT be fool when someone shows you their gear....for example I have normal gear as my set but when I wan to pvp with my warrior I sometimes switch to 89/90 o_o light armor...he might be hiding a pair of sun rings and show you some crappy ones for all I know, just a thought -.-

Oh men!
When you hit him --> min damage
When he hit you --> max damage
All of this come from your parry ratio compare to his attack ratio.
