hi,

I got a nooby question (and apologize in advance if this is not posted in the right section).

Im planning to borrow my chinese char to a friend. He just got his char hacked so I want to help him out by lending him my account (so he can make some money etc...).
Atm im focussing on my euro char so I wont have time to lvl my chinese (espec now that 100cap is comming).

I trust the guy for 99%, he really is a cool person, but I dont know him irl, so you'll never know. And I really dont want to loose my chinese (too much time and money spended).
Now here comes the question: Is there any way I could loose my account for good if I just give him my ID and password? I mean I could retrieve my account any time I want with the help of my secret answer right? Or is there any way I could loose my account that I'm overseeing? Just want to be cautious.

tnx

like nuke said as long as you have email verification done then he cant change the password and take the char but he can clean it right out and leave you with nothing...

also he could charge silk to it and then do a charge back and get it banned..

also he could still have a keylogger on his computer so your char may get cleaned out like his and he would get the blame.

i would say if you have some extra gold to just lend him some gold and let him start over or something.

if you do lend it to him then don't come back here crying you got hacked..

Let me clear something up for all people, I had problems with understanding Email Verfication.

Un-Verified account.!
You can change your password with secret answer, everything as regular.

Verified account.!
You verify your account at Joymax portal. You verify it to special email (which you enter).
Everytime, you want to modify ANYTHING about your account, Joymax sends special code to your email (which you entered).
You copy that code and put it where they ask you to, and only then you can change your account information (requires everything as normal, secret answer for PW etc...)

Be warned, if you lose your email, you will never be able to change anything ;)

I guarentee you are going to regret letting your "friend" borrow your account, more so because you don't even know him irl. Don't do it..

I won't be surprised to see you in a week crying about being screwed.

+1, people are usually doing something shady when they get hacked(sharing account info, using illegal programs, etc).

Don't give away anything you aren't willing to lose.

Well, I share my acc info from all characters with a friend I dont know irl. He change pw for me few times, when I cant load joymax page or something.
I share items with 4-5 players which also dont know irl, not some cheap shit, suns and other items that worth a lot.
Without those friends this game would be shit for me. Its just a stupid pixels, who cares.

you should ask this question to yourself. Ok I trust him but should I trust his computer too?

I mean maybe he is keylogged and you may lose everything on your account. And there will be a drama between you and your friend because there is no way for you to understand if he hacked you or he was keylogged.

Tnx for the replies,

I'm not really concerned about losing the stuff on my account (I've switched almost everything to my other account anyway), I just dont want to lose the account itself. And from what I've understood, the only way I could lose it is by chargeback. And I can't see any reason why my friend would ever do that.
Sometimes you gotta trust people.

And don't worry: The last thing I would do is come crying here on this forum about me being screwed. I'd only have myself to blame. It's a risk im willing to take.
As pfff said: Without friends this game would be worthless!

Do you need a 6th friend? :D:D:D

OT: Be sure u dont have anything worthable in ur char if ur going to lend it to him.. after u do, and he returns it, be sure to change the PW... all this if ur 99.01% sure hes trustable...

If you`re planing to lend him your account, don`t do it unless you know what got him hacked.
He might have a keylogger on his computer, ready to recive your id/pw.

You never know.

i was just pointing this out because there have been
misunderstandings about this before. and then we get
spammer with pm's/emails telling us it was their friend
botting and not them. or little sister or grandparents
or whatever.

and some people do care about their forum account.

Good point, but for some people here, SRO is a big part of their life. Anyways, for people who DO care about SRO, your "friends" don't have to be scammers from the start, they can build confidence for 3 months and then run away all with your loot when you think its ok to let them carry all your shit

If you remember your answer to your secret question then you can just change your password on the official sro website.
