Hey Pally, how about this stock market index thingy on tv and on yr iphone everyday, how do we see those. I see it everyday don't know what those number means, DOW JONE, HENG SENG, NEKEI etc i know they belong to countries and such but what are those 0.1 bla bla number means?!!
Lets take the DOW.
DOW <--- Stock Name( The DOW is comprised of the I want to say TOP 50 Companies over all.)
90.88 <--- Represents how much money it has made today. can be positive or negitive.
+1.23% <---- Represents how much it has increased today, so its up by +1.23% but can fall or continue to rise at any time.
7,486.58 <--- This represents how much you buy per share (I believe) So its $7,486.58 per one share. The sad thing is it used to be
OVER 9,000!!!. So the companies with in this stock group have lost a lot of money.
Not all Stock names are companies clustered togeather. The other is the S&P. The S&P has the top 500 companies.
Lets take another stock like WMI (Waste Management Inc.) That is just waste management it's self not 500 companies clustered togeather.
