lol.

I think that everyone who has the game pointed out you need someone you actually know, to play with you.

Level, character, weapon?

Don't really have a favorite level since I pretty much like them all.

My favorite character would be Excella, but I'm leaning towards Sheva or Jill more and more.

My favorite weapons:

* Handgun: SIG P226. *Great for setting up those awesome melee attacks.*
* Shotgun: Hydra.
* Machine Gun: AK-74.
* Rifle: Dragunov.
* Magnum: S&W M500. But it's slower then the L. Hawk though.
* And the Infinite Rocket Launcher which I unlocked yesterday.
* It's so sad the Grenade Launcher doesn't have infinite ammo though, those nitrogen rounds rock.

I was wondering if anyone uses the screen filters? I'm playing on Retro ATM and I like it a lot. And does anyone use Weskers Dash move and flying knee in Mercenaries? Because I believe that nothing says I love Majinji more then a flying knee to the nose. :love: :P

It does suck yeah.. Maybe there's some sort of trick to bypass the whole thing, but I don't know about it.

I didn't like this game... Actually, I didn't like the people I had to play with in co-op. They were all fags, asking and doing shit. Impossible to play. So it ruined the Online experience for me and Solo mode is boring as hell.

Most people online are douches, I completely agree with you. Even though it's in their best interest to work together, they rarely do. They will even pick up ammo for weapons they don't even carry with them, and they can ruin the fun completely.

Playing with a friend is so much better, I must admit I'm more of a solo player, I don't like depending on other people for the reasons mentioned above, but playing RE5 with my friend was definitely fun. We watched each others health and checked each others ammo, if one of us was in need of something, no requests were needed, as the other one would have already given what you needed at that moment. And if things did go wrong, then no big deal, none of us ever said anything related to "Great, now we lost because of you." So we could just play the game and have fun instead of being nervous about making a mistake or anything like that.

Excella is pretty popular, yeah. Apparently I'm the only one who hated her guts and cheered over her ending where she went all QQ about Wesker betraying her, kekeke.

Wesker's melee actions are amazing, Tiger Uppercut and Rhino Charge are favourite. I don't use the dash too often, but it's priceless whenever Wesker introduces his knee to a Majini's face.
His "Thank You" action is quite hilarious and it's so him: "It was in your best interest to assist me."

I played coop with a friend beside me. It was so worth 80$ The experience could never be matched with online co-op even if your partner wasn't a douche

I played with a friend over PSN. Was still worth it. Just.. I wish they made RE5 scarier. It's losing its name to me.

Well PlayStation Network isn't available in Lithuania either, and seeing how the 360 is cheaper, I'd go for that.

No seriously, I did some Googling, and apparently you can bypass it:

Worth the try I'd say.

Wonder if the words the Majini's say actually mean something. The female one goes "Beega! Beega! Beega!", or however you spell it, sounds so funny lol.

I finally found a good use for the stun rod. Anytime I try to launch a shot in any confined space, chris walks in my view. It's not really intentional I believe, but still annoying, so every time he gets in the way I whack him with the stun rod. It doesn't give him any damage, but it's educational for him to know his place. I also managed to fill up most of the inventory regarding the treasures you can find. Including the "Heart of Africa" which I couldn't find. Now all that's left is to fill the bottom row with diamonds and rings and other valuable content.

I can't wait. *Sparkle.* I'm turning into a crow. >.>

Oh that's actually a good idea. I have the same problem alot too. I play as Chris myself so my view isn't completely blocked with arm muscles picking up money and standing in front of my crosshair, but Sheva is quite good at it too.

I like collecting stuff in games. The BSAA emblems, the treasures.

I like the snake bracelet the Chainsaw Freak drops.
And the Royal Necklace in that office.

*hint hint*

The chainsaw maniacs aren't that tough if you keep moving. You can run in circles around them if you figured out their attack pattern. Just shoot them then run behind them and shoot them again. Rinse and repeat. Just don't stand in one spot and fire away. :wink:

And there are difficulty switching options ya know?

And thanks Ru. But I'm sure I already got those. :P

Just finished the game, tried Mercenaries, but i cannot get better than a C in the first level. Anyone who has some tips? I play as Sheva.

On a side note, what characters can I unlock and how?

Thanks!

I suggest memorizing the map, know where the time bonuses are. Memorize it, run the route in the Story Mode after you killed everyone if you don't want to be surrounded with mobs right away.

At the start, I get the bonuses first, and leave most of the Majini. Then just go on a killing spree, there's not much to it. You can also camp it out in the bus, which can work like a bottleneck, but sooner or late you'll have to move. Discard useless weapons you aren't going to use, because Majini will drop ammo for each weapon you carry. Reload via inventory (combine ammo + weapon).
Be sure to melee a lot, since a melee kill adds 5 seconds to the clock, valuable time you will need to make your score as high as possible. I always go with Midnight Wesker. His H&K P8 has low critical rating so I can finish Majini off really fast with low chance of losing my killstreak because of a critical hit. Shoot a Majini in the face, Wesker's Cobra Strike does 1200 dmg, which no Majini will survive. Keep in mind that headshots increase the chance of Chephalo's, so always be prepared to quickly switch to your magnum to finish them off. Other than that, only use the Magnum for bosses and to keep your killstreak going.

If you play solo, you need 40,000 for an A rank, if you play in co-op, it's 80,000.
I prefer BSAA Chris above Sheva, I always ditch the shotgun when I play solo, so I only have the handgun. That way, the mobs will only drop ammo for the handgun.

I really suggest playing with someone else, it's much more fun.

Image

Top Row: Midnight Wesker, S.T.A.R.S Chris, Clubbin' Sheva, S.T.A.R.S. Wesker, Safari Chris, Tribal Sheva.
Bottom Row: BSAA Jill, BSAA Chris, BSAA Sheva, Battlesuit Jill.

BSAA Jill - A Rank Public Assembly
- Px4 Pistol, H&K MP5, 5 Flash Grenades, First Aid Spray
Midnight Wesker - A Rank The Mines
- H&K P8, S&W M500, 5 Hand Grenades, 5 Proximity Bombs
Zebraman Chris - A Rank Village
- SIG P226, M3, 2 Rocket Launchers
Blonde Sheva - A Rank Ancient Ruins
- AK-74, Jail Breaker, S75
S.T.A.R.S. Chris - A Rank Experimental Facility
- SIG 556, S&W M29, Grenade Launcher
Skimpy Outfit Bow Girl Sheva - A Rank Missile Area
- Longbow, Grenade Launcher, 3 Flash Grenades, 3 Incendiary Grenades, First Aid
Battle Suit Jill - A Rank Ship Deck
- VZ61, H&K PSG-1, 3 Hand Grenades, 1 Green/Green Herb
S.T.A.R.S. Wesker - A Rank Prison
- Samurai Edge Pistol, Lightning Hawk, Hydra

To unlock the next stage, you need to score at least a B.

In order to get the big scores you have to use a lot of melee attacks which, and if it defeats a majinji, gives you +5 extra seconds. It's also a good idea to get as many enemies as you can to follow you around, then pick up a + combo timer and proceed to defeat them as a group. Lure them towards a red barrel then shoot the barrel, throw a grenade between them if you know it will defeat them, or shoot the whole group with nitrogen rounds then proceed to melee them all. Shoot the executioners as well, since they give massive points when defeated. Also, make sure you kill the chicken(s) since they give 2000 points each when defeated and count as an enemy. Just try you're best to keep the combo's going.

It's all coming down to memorizing spawn points, + time bonuses, and utilizing combo's. If I remember correctly there are 150 enemies in the PB area, so if you defeat them all before time runs out you get 1000 + points for every second left on the clock. :)

Edit: lol! Ru. :3 You posted before me... :(

Oh, and like the Lady already said, staying in the bus is a good idea. Also the executioner can't enter the bus so you can take pot shots at him at you're leisure.

Yes. Are you surprised?

I played a lot with BSAA Chris, I guess because I am so used to his character, as I played all the stages with him first before trying any other character.
Prefer Midnight Wesker overall as he's my favourite character, has the most bad ass melee moves and the ability to introduce knees to faces.

My friend beat the game before I did so he knew where the treasures were. I would be like.. wtf where the hell did you find that? Random places they place that shit.. If he didn't get them I wouldn't be able to max out anything. Good thing he did o_O

I got most of them on the first playthrough. Curious as I am, I always look everywhere so I stumbled upon most. I only had to get the Heart of Africa, Diamond (Marquis) and the Topaz (Marquis) you get if you kill the mob you usually run away from in Chapter 1.

I liked collecting these and the BSAA emblems, though many people dislike collecting stuff.

Wonder why.
