Redownloading the client from gamershell >.>. Tal you were right, the main site downloader is incredibly slow >.<.

BTW what server do most of you guys play on? After reading the RoM forums it seems like Mage/Priests are the Warrior/Clerics of RoM :roll:. And whats the difference between a warrior and a knight :?

knights are more like your sword&board tankers, a paladin-esque class where warriors can tank and damage decently.

Most of us NA players play on Artemis, least the ones on this forum that are vocal.

Tal and I just hit cap on one of our classes, now working on capping the other. As for your partying question earlier, there would always be time for raids when you're around.

They have a few "fixes" for the "Obtaining Server List" freeze up but nothing solid. Honestly I would start with a non-corrupt know to be working client (ie. the one from www.gamershell.com). Then we can go through the fixes one by one to see if anything helps. One of our friends had the same problem and ended up DLing from GH and all was good.

First time i d/l the client was from gamershell. ;s I'm downloading from another site since its going quicker than gamershell, hopefully it wont be corrupt.

What I did was this:

1: http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/index.html
2: Do the registration, directly above the banner that says "Welcome to Runes of Magic"
3: Once registration on site is complete, open your email and verify it.
4: That email should bring you back to http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/index.html, except this time you are logged in under your user name.
5: On the left top side, you should see "Hello [UserName]" or welcome, or something of the sort and a bunch of stuff below it. Select Account Management.
6: This takes you to Frogster's page. You actually already have a login, just use the name and password you used when registering for RoM on step 2.
7. Select Runes of Magic, for the which game you're subscribing to, and when it asks you what package, select none, and press accept. It will give you an error, but that's alright. Once that's done, you're free to exit the browser and login. I tested this with two other accounts, so I know this pattern works.

I would give you my link, but it only works for the one account, and already says it's used when I click on it myself again.

I got mine to work with hotmail, gmail, and my schools email; so if you have an alternate email address that you use (or would want to create to play the game if you can't get the email thing to work) then try that as well.

I used my hotmail and gmail emails multiple times, but i still don't get the activation email. Its no in my junk mail either :\.

I tried a new email address, still doesn't send me a activation email >________>

No sensitivity adjustments for the mouse (Maybe an addon or something not sure), but the most annoying part of the mouse moving is the default "left click to unlock target" setting under the interface window. No matter what you have locked as soon as you left click you lose it, REALLY FACKIN ANNOYING. Uncheck that box or set it to right click to unlock target and its basically like moving in SRO. I found the graphics much better then WoW and not bad at all to look at for long periods of time.

like the game but the log in lags to much for me for some odd reason. the rest of the game runs fine but the log on lags like hell. so i stopped playing lol

Its a mix of WoW and GuidlWars and Lineage 2.
It has WoW controls and gfx mostly, ok game but last i heard it had problems with economy.
But WoW made their zones far more better, this one seems a bit more plain.

Yeah, the download is the biggest complaint to the game. I play on a PvE server (never got into PvP much) but there are guild wars and stuff like that. The "top" guild was beat 2 days ago so it is possible to win against item mall junkies. As far as bots go, I've seen one and reported it and it was taken care of within a day. Gold spammers are all over but they are taken care of when the GM's are on, and there are addons to filter them out.

The economy is being addressed, they have made it so diamonds (item shop currency) are of limited use in the auction house now as an experiment, hopefully they keep it that way and the economy gets better (although its not all that bad other then the diamond factor).

I think i'm going to put this game on my laptop, as it is the only thing I could play in class.

edit:

Logged in and they reset my skills.

I maxed out tidal wave, flame, fireball, fire mastery, magic buff thing, and regeneration.

Not sure if I should max out bone chill (so I can level my priest with tidal wave + bonechill, probably a good idea), but I would like to max heal since it gives like +900 hp at 30 (my priest secondary's level).

Downloading it to desktop now, 1200kb/s - 50 minutes.

Also looked at the perma mounts. I like the white war horse... possibly the war tigers (flame + lightning), but the graphics on my laptop look horrible. Will have to wait until I get my desktop running.

And about costumes... can I wear them now and use them forever, or you apply them to a piece of armor and they take that look, meaning I need one set for every set of armor I will own? I like the nighthawk set.
