By displaying the GameGuard logo, they are stating they are USING the GameGuard client itself. By displaying the logo and not actually including the GameGuard is fraudulent use of products. It's like buying a computer with AVG Anti-Virus but it only displays the logo for AVG, without actually having the real thing implemented making it seem as though AVG's product is a piece of shit. This. Interpret it how you want. They don't explicitly state that GameGuard will be active. Edit: Sure, that logo is pretty suggestive. They also suggested that they would take a firm stance against bots. That they were continually doing their best to ensure a smooth gaming experience. Wait...

Yeah and maybe they are trying but if gameguard is not active and they are advertising it as if it was then its pretty much fraud

Why would they ask you to send them files lol? Surely such a company would know what they provide or at least download the client to check... Joymax could of editted the GG files, then canceled the subscription of GG, meaning they got a free anti hack.. but um..this will bring peoples FPS up a little because GG does run in the backround with a little MU being used.

so basically EVERYONE else knew silkroad was using a fake GameGuard EXCEPT for the people that make GameGuard?
i just assumed they didnt care. im sure joymax pays them to use their name anyway, and thats all it is really about in the end.

Joymax is in a stalemate now, if they accept gameguards client, it will easily block the bot programs, but then joymax will lose bots. So we have to hope, that joymax finally understands, that real players are worth more tha bots, accepts gameguard and we have a happy ending.
OR it keeps ignoring GG and then isro will be full of bots, and everyone will migrate to esro.

Is it Silkroad or DarkEden? This statement is enough proof that JM is paying GG for its solution on SRO. Which means, JM is entitled to put the logo of GG in SRO. Use it or not, its their choice. JM don't answer to GG, GG answer to JM. Well even if you pay for a license, I'd think you shouldn't be able to use their logos without using their software. I'm sure Microsoft would have a problem if some company bought a corporate license for Windows Vista, then threw the "Windows" name and logos up onto some other OS to make it look like Windows. Would Symantec have a problem with OEM vendors putting the yellow shield icon (the one for Symantec Antivirus client) into the system tray of all computers the vendor sells? Of course assuming the yellow shield icon also had the tooltip "Symantec Antivirus Client" when you hover the mouse over it. Seems it's the same thing with GameGuard. If the GG client is not really running, Joymax shouldn't claim it is, even if they have a license.

Here's my email to Joymax a while back on gameguard: Good thing I kept it in my inbox *EDIT* Emailed the same person as in the OP's post, Jay, and wrote a lengthy email building on what was said in the first post. Hopefully they can beat some sense into Joymax!

And this is why I've debating religiously that JM is to be blame for all the botting that takes place in SRO. They literally open the gates for all the people who are willing to bot. If they are truly using the gameguard logo without actually using the program to stop illegal 3rd party software then this is proof they are responsible 100%.

Ok, so if they try to fix it by banning all your bot friends, your friends will quit and never play sro again right? Is that what you want?

There will be one problem, all servers will be empty except for the few legits, maybe 100, each server still has, so there is no jobbing, pvping, no items to buy, etc. Before all bots are legitly d8-10 again, we are about half a year further.
