Does the guild war system still works? I remember way back guild leaders could (and did) declare war against other guilds. They had the option of making the war last from a few hours to a few days. And they could wager a certain amount of gold on the outcome. Wining guild gets all.

It was fun back then. You'd log on and wonder why the person in town (or anywhere) who is not wearing a cape or nothing was under red status. Sooner or later you'd find out that your guild was at war with them. That sorta thing made the game very interesting. It means you could go out hunting the enemy. No need for job suits. Plus each kill you get wins you some kinda ranking points.

One thing: Euro Update
It kill Guild Wars and severely damage the trade system, both players and the company are at fault for not doing anything about it.

How so?...If you mean to say the Euro class makes the game unbalanced then you do realize that a guild is not race restrictive. Any guild can have a combination of any race. So I don't understand when you say the Euro update ruined guild warring.

Guild War Starts:
Both guilds Bless
Bless again
Immolation
Immolation
safe zone
Bless
Ultima screen
Painquota
More bless
More immolation
Outside buff
Repeat till one of the guilds gets bored and ends the war.
In the end,the whole war is nothing but bless/immolation/screens

Basically, since Euros came out, people dont wanna guild war cuz the moment one guild takes an advantage over the other it becomes a flame war about the other guild using European buffs [in guild and out] and how the winning guild is nothing but "turk noobs" or something along those lines.

"Old" guilds w/ just Chinas in it (does this even still exist? oO) is w/o any chance against a guild who has Euros. As stated out before, blesses, fences and so on gives a huge advantage to the Euro vs China balance.

But if there are Euros in both guilds its still fun to GW. And bless/fences and so on are useless for some builds :P You just need to know your build.

I think in ~1-2 months GWs will start again, cause then many players will be 98FF+/100FF. Then the action returns to the battlefields YEEEHAAA

Not really, the closest thing to a guild war on Silkroad is Fortress war, thats really the only time people stop botting to play. To the players, if there is no financial benefit [gold] then there is no reason to stop botting.

I see what you mean..Now I understand.. Still tho from what I remembered back then when guilds declared war on each other its not always a group battle with everyone showing up. I remembered when my old guild was at war I'd be grinding and see an enemy riding by. Then either they kill me or I kill them. It was fun.

Not necessarily, on Troy there have been plenty of both wars. Though if you ment that the best wars were back when it was only Chinese, then you're absolutely right.

lol if someone dark ress mine lvl 77 warrior, a lvl 100 wizard with life takes about 4-5 hits to take me down, i can even take on pure offering and thats why its bullshit

Guild wars are made impossible because of Euros. It always ends with whoever can bring more out of guild buffers wins. Its just pointless until Joymax tweaks the Guild War system. Until then you stick to fort, anything goes and theres no outside buffers. Everyone can die.

Euro Update as itself made SRO a new and a much more better game!

The Chars itself are not good / overpowered while they standalone. The Party makes em good. And now not just dumb bashing is the key to success. Now its tactics too between 2 euro-8-PTs.

China -> Solo
Euro -> Party

And thats good

or declare the guild war before everyone is all converged to jangan or whatever city. makes a more exciting hunt than just a huge battle , less noobs, less crowd, less lags. That happened a few times when I played , its a nice change
