Here's a good depiction:

This video gave me a glimpse (a rather small one) of what the Universe is really made up of. As a child, my mind has always wondered what lies beyond this planet called Earth. Are there more life forms than Humans? Is there a "barrier" containing the Universe? Does the Universe just go on forever? Those were the one of the few questions that were stuck in my as a child up to this day.
So far I know that:
VY Canis Majoris is the biggest star that we know of.
Pluto is no longer a planet. (Kind of old news, but I thought I should mention it anyways.)
There are countless billions of galaxies in this Universe, filled with extraordinary sites and beautiful colors.
This Universe is something that keeps you're mind wandering for a long time.

its crazy, i wonder that myself... I wonder if theres similar planets to us, is there life, etc. etc. its fortunate for us to explore these kinds of things, able to know about space, but still theres tons of questions to be answered, and i dont think the human race will live to answer them all, or if so, it would take a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long time.

Yeah it was informative.
I wonder how we can get to other galaxys aswell... Like everything is black, and all the stars seem to be in different directions... would we have to go straight toward them and face many things along the way... and how would we enter them? too many questions to type

I think about this stuff every...single...day. Lately I've been thinking of the closed universe theory (Big crunch). Maybe it expands then it get to a certain point then it starts to collapse on it self until the whole universe is crushed down to the size smaller than a neutron then expands again into another big bang and everything starts over again (Not exactly the same but a whole new universe). There has to be life somewhere else. Probably even Europa, we need to get over there and get under that ice. It would be insane if we were able to jump start the core of mars again and turn that into a 2nd home. Beyond our universe i think there could be a whole ocean of other universes. Dark matter and dark energy... Time.

The new clock is a variant on the atomic clocks that appeared in the 1950s. Atomic clocks usually work by measuring the frequency at which atoms resonate. For instance, the outer electrons of a caesium-133 atom resonate between two energy states exactly 9,192,631,770 times each second, emitting microwaves of exactly that frequency as they do so. This property has been used since 1967 to define what we mean by 1 second - it is officially the time it takes for a caesium atom to resonate 9,192,631,770 times. Now we have the caesium clock counting with 9 billion oscillations per second."
So what ticks faster than a caesium atom? Elements being scrutinised include ytterbium, mercury and strontium, which resonates 429,228,004,229,952 times each second. But until now it has proved impossible to create a useful strontium atomic clock.
Then it just falls into like...what is consciousness. I think its crazy how powerful the human brain is and the things its capable of. I'm just skimming over stuff just to get something in before i go to sleep right now lol I'll post a whole bunch in here when i get back from school.

I remember reading this from somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it.

Could be a noob question but You guys think there are life on those worlds...? I always believed about aliens and stuff fake... but watching many 'worlds' on the universe, i think it's impossible that they don't have a single life...

Oh wow at that picture, this is not even possible to imagine how small we are. Most people don't even travel around the world in their life. And earth comparated to that largest thing doesn't even exist. It's not even possible to think about this and imagine, it's too big.

It's believed that there's life in Mars, but only time will tell.
As for the whole Universe, it's very likely, because I doubt out of the millions of galaxies out there, that we're the only ones to evolve to intelligent life forms.

So what's bigger: Our imagination or the universe?

Other forms of life could probably exist. In earth all needs oxygen and water to live. In other planet, they probably use other kinds of elements to live in their environment. There're lots of unknown stuffs in the dark matter.

I always thought the universe was probably not as infinite as we think it is. Just like everyone used to think that the earth was flat and extended only until as far as they could see. What happens if we journey out into space and keep on going "straight" only to somehow arrive back at earth again O_O?
