That char sucked big time :d Just later I was introduced to the niceness of good dps by my shammy. Of course I made a shammy again, but the very useful totem/curse spells (well, 2 of them I used) are not there anymore. Also, no free items I was supposed to get, less money, hating the fast exp (ok not really :P ). Leaves me thinking....

You make me rage.

I'm dowloading the torrent at the moment, not sure if it's the fastest one, but atleast I can power my pc on and off without worrying about the download.

So for Crossbow I should go Kruxena->Rogue->Assassin? Not sure if it's Assassin or Soul Runner.

What server are you guys in? Valdes?

Is there any place where I can find guides/walkthroughs, etc.?

Thank you :)

Soul hunter is the spellcaster of kruxena, like a warlock. Rogue - crossbow/daggers and other rogue-ish weapons

Shadow Runners and Assassins are OP (overpowered) atm. Go Shadow Runner if you have a brain, go Assassin if you just want to press one button, go afk, and come back to find your target dead.

I'm in Valdes Server.

I think I'm gonna have to consider pressing one button for a kill.

40% at the moment, I'll check out the forums, thank you.

EDIT:

Download completed, installed, played for around two hours, got a rogue to level 13, did all the quests in the first town and now I'm at the north watchtower ones.

Enjoying it so far, but I'm looking for a Ant Hill and I can't find anything like that on the map, I also tried walking south as they said but I didn't find any ants. I'll play again tomorrow - err - today.

EDIT2:

14 now, I found the ants by accident, but now I had to go on a quest which I guess I'm not strong enough for.

Name's xSnipeD.

My IGN is FuxinRAWR level 60 Zerker atm, though I'll probably be a WL by the end of the Week if the FoC/Ion Metagame stays the same.

I have my Poison of Malice skill at level 3, but since it has 9 points left I guess it's ok.

SR is the one I should pick if I want to use my crossbow alot, right?

Yes, SR is Xbow & Sin is close range. Either way you'll be good (by default) at PvP.

Won't be hard to get to 60s imo, exp is increased a lot, I'm 26 and haven't played for 2 days. Planning to get to 35 by the end of the week without playing too much.

50% exp event for 2 weeks, I think there are still some days left. Join the fun in the 65 PvP Bracket.

@Unique, Poison attacks ignore defense. ;)

My problem is that I have too many games I have fun playing, and I have a good time playing Requiem but I have like two other games I'm still addicted~ish so I guess I'll play as much as I can, to see if I get bored from them.

Shamans and Battle Magicians are easy to grind in this game and (by default) have an advantage against most Melee classes because of range. Before season 2 Battle Magicians were considered the OP end-all-be-all PvP class but, atm, several classes can easily hold the title of "OP." The biggest contenders atm are rogue secondary classes, zerkers, and avengers.

I would say Battle Magician ~> Elementalist are still very powerful. They lost some defense and the ability to dash but they still pack a punch, their ranged stuns were not touched & they have a movement speed debuff & attack speed debuff.
Battle Magician ~> Druid. They got more defense, stuns, and dashes but their nukes aren't as powerful as elementalist. They are shape-shifters.

Shaman ~> Mystic. Support Healer/Buffer, DPS, and AoE class. great addition to any AoE party and good at gaining contribution in BGs by dropping AoEs everywhere.
Shaman ~> Forsaker. Single target DPS. This class is good at killing and got all the PvP related moves, imo it really shines in Ion Mine because it can set a wall to hold off an incoming team.

Know this:
BM ~> Elementalist: High Single target DPS with good CC skills.
BM ~> Druid: Shape shifter, excels at PvE but can be built with PvP (Ion Mine) in mind. The hardest class to master & build.
Shaman ~> Mystic: AoE class with support Heals. Good at gaining contribution in FoC PvP.
Shaman ~> Forsaker: High single target DPS with good CC skills, shines in Ion Mine.

FoC & Ion Mine are battle grounds. In Ion Mine you run around and capture flags, there are certain areas where people can be bottlenecked. There a Forsaker can set a chaos totem and hold a large group off until reinforcements arrive. FoC is an open field where two teams of up to 15 players (15 on each team) fight.

Quest based grinding but there are three spots that I know of where there are so few quest you need to grind: 35-40, 49-53, and 64-67. The cap is 80.
Premium:
Increased exp (+50%), lose less exp when you die, discounts at NPCs, and more gold drops. Nothing game-breaking.
Party: I solo 9/10 times but I would say the game is party based. It has your classic DPS, Tank, Healer, DoTs classes.
PvP
On Valdes, Lintra, and Hammerine we can enter battlegrounds to accumalte points and buy gear/items.
On Hammerine you can pk other players (in the lvl 50-69 zones) to gain exp. Your name turns red and you gain negative tendency which prevents you from interacting with NPCs, joining a guild, or joining a party. You do lose exp when you get pked, the pk system is off on Hammerine atm because people were QQing.

Thanks, clear answers :D Creating char atm

EDIT: IGN: HeartAttack(Templar)on Valdes, got myself to lv.5,so far so good, except for tracking NPc in town for quest(the Map Location tool isnt really clear),also I dont see much people yet(Turba Island),makes the game look dead(plus it dosnt help with the whole death/bloody theme :P )

Valdes Turba is constantly packed. Lintra was dead-ish. Just wait until you get to the next map, I'm sure it's got tons of people.

BM is awesome, you throw glowing balls etc, pretty strong. Everyone QQ'd they were overpowered but only if you have the right equip and know how to use one. Which I didn't but I was the massive damage dealer in parties. I dunno about shamans, they are too fugly to play. Job change is 50, for old Req anyway.

I'd follow this guide if I were you, I originally didn't and regret not. It made things easier on my alt.

I don't think that guide is still applicable because they changed a lot of mob types: for example, grove face spiders were elites in season 1 they're normal mobs in season 2. I suspect a lot of other changes were made in s2 to mob locations, level, and types. Shaman is a support class: Mystic is Support Healer & Primary Magic AoE DPS, Forsaker is CC(Crowd Control) and primary magic single target DPS. Battle Mages focus on single target PvP and PvE. They add little to parties unless you're going druid and specced for PvE (heals & HP out the ass):

Unbaised basic explanation of all classes

I find BMs boring & Sacchin thinks Shammies are ugly sooo. As you can obviously tell I only play Kruxena & Bartuk; I'm a Turan enthusiast. I don't like the little bugger BMs and Hunters going pew-pew-stun-pew-pew and boom-I-blow-your-shit-up xD. Some of the info on that link is out of date.

Was mainly focusing on this part

Quote:
A Bigger, Better way to level with Premium.

Follow the grinding list above until you reach level 36. At this time, kill Goblin Warriors outside of Mercy Gate until level 40. At 40, stop questing; simply save the quests for later (you'll see why in a minute. Instead, grind on Goblin Healers at Arnal Watertower, or do Wrecked Ship Parties (Not suggested to grind Wrecked Ship solo until at least 45. Your DPS simply won't be high enough before it to make it worthwhile), Secret Lab to farm your level 46 jewelry set, or AT for your Armor. Once you reach a comfortable level of 47 and 75% experience, begin questing. If this is done with a scroll and with premium, one is able to easily quest all the way to 63/64.

--TygreNinja 11:18, 17 February 2009 (PCT)

If you start off with a level 1 character and use +30% EXP scrolls, with Premium, you can easily quest to level 64 with very minimal grinding. (You may have to grind two or three levels at the most.)

But...there are now only 30% exp scrolls and no 50% premiums, I guess they took those out?
