I have been browsing SRF's GD lately and all i see is hundreds of accounts with the Banned User tag on them. What I have noticed is that its always the same 15 - 20 members posting in the threads and topics, or creating them, which has made me wonder lately, how many people are actually having a "General Discussion" here? Or is it because there is actually nothing left to discuss about SRO? Also a high percentage of those who post are actually people who already quit the game. I barely see a topic in a two days period. Are we loosing a lot of members? It isn't quite the number I expect for a popular MMO's GD as we are one of the most popular forums out there. Discuss.

If I had to hazard a guess or an opinion, I'd say that more and more users are coming here but most of them are intimately familiar with the "no-bot, no-talkie-about-bots" policy, so lurk much more often than post.
I've had PM's from people who signed up in 2007 and 2008 and never posted once. But they read and lurk.
And yes, SRO is on the downhill slide due to many factors; I'm sure that makes a difference for posts. A lot of new people here to be sure but not that much interesting discussion about SRO.
The other thing I also noticed is a lot of the old threads have banned people in them.
(yeah, I saw Lempi's comment after I posted)

I will say my oppinion but i risk to be burnet alive Most of the coolest and experienced players are gone from here, most of them banned for botting. Now it's a miracle to post a threat about a problem for example and someone to answer. Sorry to say that, but many of the people who play this game atm and post in this forums are more or less noobs, or let's just say less experienced than the banned members. Even if they were botters, they knew the game better than most of the legits out here... Back when i registered there were always new and interestinh topics to discuss or just to read, some games were going on, fun threads... now all i see is the topics about FW, new events and announsement and someone's unique kill or alhemy luck... What can i say... it's just sad and it is this way because of the war with the bots...

Think about it, is there anything left to really discuss about SRO? Any new game-breaking mechanics? No, when Islam or new skills are added there will be discussions all over the place. Until then, sit back and enjoy the commercials or take a break. The game is dying, it's been dying for a long time; the sections related to SRO will die with it, it's natural.

Time for Ryoko to take down the site then too since it's a silkroadforum after all >.>

Even moderators gave up on this section. I'm active but I mostly read and only post in some threads that are iteresting, and those are quite rare these days. There are always some retards that don't even play anymore flaming, accusing, etc. And I'd rather have some of those banned over some random bots that can actually talk and know something about this game.

GD is dieing because boxxy has infected it with my sig of awesomeness
im active (causing arguements when i can ) i think its because a lot of us have quit and want to come back but consider it a waste of time... a lot of us were so ANTI bot in the game were pretty much a nazi force on GD which is why i think we see a lot of rants between the older members and newer members who have signed up for there say on the situation...
until a new update expect similar to come im afraid

I didn't give up on this section, I just don't like what it's become.

My answer would be a mix of bg's and baro's replies.

I play silkroad for like.. (errm, when was olympus opened?) and just dont feel like answering due to the content of the threads(or the lack of it) nowadays. At same time, its a fact that theres nothing much left to discuss. Thats why every single thread goes off topic or turns into a bot acusation flame fest. -Oh, and i cant stand ex-players talkin loads and loads of shit and making accusations about people who still play.
"hi i hit lvl 40, stopped 2 years ago and now im promoting flame wars against 'closet botters' and no-yellow-boxes pictures"

The game has already been dying since botting became rampant, but that never stopped forum activity here on GD. Guess what caused the decline in forum activity?
