The forum mods delete any posts of calling anyone a botter/exploiter. Read up on Aionsource on Siel then you'll see. I'm not quite sure what they mean by "We got logs", but I believe its the exploit relating to logs? I've seen a screenshot of them grinding on a log where the mob is too retarded to attack.

Durability is the most annoying thing ever made. Glad they didn't put it. *Grinding in Mist Mane for a long time. Ohh boy chest and legs about to break! Oshi now my weapon!* Then waste like 20minutes running all the way back unless your group/alliance has a SM lol

Well, 2 AS mods play on Triniel and Flawleess gets accused of exploiting all the time but the mods don't lock the topics, but whatever. Good luck on your server. lol

Triniel has its own theme song.

mind giving me some kinahmakingtips? D: I almost had 2mil at 37, but then got bitchslapped back to 500k when I bought some stigmas.. skills.. gear
since we're on different servers it wouldn't mess with your business plan if you have one :V

Really love the game so far, but the elyos on my server are really lacking, aside from a few legions.

Anyone have experience in weaponsmithing? Is it worth it? I'm currently at 225, about to make myself a new dagger but it's expensive and such..

From what I know weapon smithing is one of the hardest to level up right now due to low weapon fluxes. But as people start to level up it should become cheaper.

I spend most of my money on stigmas. I also buy Hasia to craft MP pots for myself. Other than that, I don't really do anything. I'm pretty sure most serious crafters or anyone serious about making money has much more than me. I'm an SM so I'm gear independent.

http://na.aiononline.com/livestatus/cha ... serverID=6

Most of my gear is still 3x stuff.

I don't sell any fluxes or manastones, I just give them away to guildies who need them. I only had like 2mil until recently. I got about 5 or 6 items in about 4 hours of grinding so I made nearly 3mil npcing the whites and selling the other junk. I found many premium fluxes which sell for a lot but I just gave them to a guild member and helped him become an expert in armorsmithing. I don't know what level you are, but around 43 or 44 you start making a decent amount of money just from selling the junk you get from grinding and npcing whites.

I rushed to 45 so I can use my advance stigmas only to find out that I have to do a group quest to unlock it... Thats what I get for joining a casual guild. Hopefully we'll have enough people to do it in a week.

Yea, I still need that one.

Well, so far Aion is a joke. Still no fix for the crysystem.dll problem so I'm unable to participate in fort raids. I report people for botting yet they're still there. The Halloween event is just free trash. So far NCSoft West is just the JM of P2P games.

At least when I reported a bot on Cabal it got banned within a day and the events were actually fun. Oh, and GMs actually exist there. I'm giving Aion 3 more months to see if things get better, if not I'm going back to Cabal.

We expect them to do everything over night(Which they should be able to do with all that money from pre-sales), but it's NCSoft. I have faith in them to clear up their previous act and create a fresh look. However I'm giving them til the end of the year and then it's either continue or ragequit.

I guess they prefer saving money and make the shitty autoban system over hiring actual people, but I did see plenty of areas much clearer than usual. They're banning even more now which is great, but still I see plenty of them out there.. in their 40s -.- when I'm 36 that just makes me sad.

I've never had the crysystem.dll problem myself..I disagree that they are the JM equivalent. They have a big ladder to climb (or fall off of?) before they reach JM status. Give it a bit more time and we should be seeing bigger changes.

^Do you have the game at max during a fortress war?

I've been through a few and crashed mostly through them all.

Yea I have it on max. Someone in my guild told me if the game ever uses over 2GB of ram it'll crash.. However when I died in fort war and alt tabbed to check something I crashed, most likely due to my ram being maxed out..

For some reason i need to limit myself to 3gb (maybe it's 4) so my tv tuner can work..really screwing me over -.-

My friend and I are planning to get this game. My other friends who are playing it are ex wow players, and they are completely in love with this game.. My question is, since there is no trial.. should I get the game? What do you do for fun in a typical day in aion?

THanks!

It's just really hard to believe that NCSoft did not anticipate the gold spams and the bots. The game's been out for a year. CH Aion has tons of spambots and goldbots when it came out. They obviously did anticipate it (I hope), but their actions did not reflect this sooner than I hoped.

I'm giving them one month.

Actually I've seen many areas cleared of gold bots. Used to see areas where there were 10bots on a single mob and now they're gone. Either they moved up or got banned. Also I haven't had a spammer for quite some time, but then again.. the way they stopped spammers harms us in a way. Unless you don't like an unlimited mail storage, but I did. 10mails/hour sucks and 30seconds delay in LFG sucks. Yeah they should've thought of something way before release, but meh..

In a typical day of Aion, you either get ganked while leveling or gank the opposite faction while they're leveling. You can participate in a fort raid but most classes need to be at least 37 to be of any use. There is other stuff you can do like instances and such, but most of what you do will consist of PvP. If you can't handle the high 3x grind of SRO Pre-Euro, you probably shouldn't play.

I don't get ganked, because I don't level in the abyss or rift exits. It's been fine for me besides the mindless grinding. It's hard to say that pvp is the 'main' thing in the game when someone is 30 and the other is 40. There is no challenge considering you can't kill the 40, but the 40 can ez pz you for a couple abyss points when he could just grind on fort mobs for way more points.

But yeah if you hate grinding = don't bother. Grouping doesn't get you a bonus.. all it does just splits the exp x ways. Should give a 5%~10 for each person in the group when grouping on elite mobs at the very least -.-

My legion gets zerged down all the time while leveling... Of course not me, I level in PvE only zone...

If you want to level fast, the abyss is the only way. Fortunately for me, when I was low level and leveled in the abyss it was empty so I was able to blow through levels in peace..most of the time. Now they're even destroying the guard towers.

You don't have to level near rift exits to get ganked. On Triniel the Elyos run around everywhere in Belusian and Morheim. You are lucky if you don't encounter any PvP while a rift is open.

I haven't played an MMO where open PvP was near equal levels most of the time. The odds of you fighting someone much higher than you or much lower than you is very high. In Aion, any decent melee player can take down a higher level caster but the caster can not do the same. Unless the melee is significantly lower level(10+), their hits will still hurt. However, if you are a lower level caster trying to hit anyone higher level than you, you are lucky if you can land a spell because of all the resists.

@the.unseen. That mask/helm is ugly... I like mine much better.
Spoiler!

Thanks for the reply. I been playing sro since it came out, so grinding won't be an issue. I'm playing on my friends account now, and so far I love this game! lol The channel system is really amazing, and makes it less laggy in towns. I'm level 4 now.. he will be letting me play for the next few days while he is on vacation, but so far I like this game.. a lot. Some skills remind me of sro..

EDIT: One thing I must say, questing is a bit harder than wow, or even sro. You need to read everything.. gets quite annoying sometimes for lazy people like me. lol

It's only that bad in our server is because the 'top' legion is Benny Lava. If I see the same shit it's /ragequit for me.

There is nothing special about leveling in Aion, especially whoever hits 50 first, the race is a joke. Most of the level 50's are gimped and get played around with by other players 5 levels below them that TOOK their time to build their characters. It's almost the same with silkroad, you rush to 50 with a 0 gap, you get gimped with lack of masteries/skills. In Aion's case, I've yet to see a bunch of level 50s trying to shoot for abyss gear atm, at least on Siel there's not many really bothering at all, it goes to show you who's really hardcore and dedicated to this game and not just jumping into this game to get the cap level. Abyss point system isn't perfect, I'll say this, just like any other system it has it's exploits and ways to get around getting easier AP...for instance, there other peeps that take advantage of the "bots" that are around and farm them for AP, and there's a lot to farm. You'll notice people farming each other, trading AP etc., this has been done alot in Kor/China Aion, not too surprised to see it happening here in NA Aion.

Quote:
Funny part is that once Benny Lava has a fort they don't even defend it. The Elyos defends it up until they need help defending. Kinda sad. Hard to take it from when they have a group of 50s just walking out and rollin everyone. 30s trying to kill a 50? Impossible.

Yes, I've talked to Naruto and they will NEVER defend any fort that they take, nor help organize it in the future. This is very weak/selfish leadership imo. The importance of defending a fort is obviously to keep the instances and also making sure that the other faction doesn't get ANY medals whatsoever. Oh yes, they can farm the Fort guards all they want but at the same time THEY can also be farmed on, haha. What's so important about the instance that you have to defend the Fortress for 2 hours? Abyss items, goblets, crowns, medals etc., these are the goodies you want to keep within your own faction to strengthen the faction as a whole. You want to keep the opposite faction from getting these, obviously.

With some top legion mentalities, they rather get rewarded medals through sieging, this is down right SELFISH AND ELITIST, only the top 5% DPS/ENMITY will get rewarded, the others, small kinah reward every cycle. Again, selfish, elitists, legions that don't care for the rest of their faction. That's fine though, no one can force them to do anything, nor tell them to do anything, it's their choice. But recognize that it should be frowned upon by those who are the true team players/legions of mmos.

Seraphim (Siel) on the other hand will start to gather some organizational effort to defend forts in the future. It's much harder to defend yes, but I'd rather expect long fights than sieges that last for 5-10mins. I helped organized defenses in the past, we've held back the asmos for at least an hour with BARELY any help of the top legions, it was a big effort mostly from lvl 30-37's, goes to show you that if there was a more united effort behind this Elyos will have not much problem defending forts in the future.

Protecting forts is a waste of time. The instances reward crap AP.

You're better off farming the guards of the opposing faction for AP which will yield you a lot more(and tons of stigma shards). You can also just take the fort back which you will get medals.

Also, more than 5% of the participants get medals... A friend of mine didn't even enter the fort but fought a few elyos outside the fort and got 2 silver medals. He was level 37 and most of the players sieging at the time were 42+.

@gamef So you have Cyclone of Wrath and most likely Curse of Fire. I don't have either. Sucks to be Asmodian.

=] Energy cyclones too, dmg is rapeeee ;o loving SM so far. Only thing is i had to drop ignite which works so good against a buffed up sorc/sm.

Probably will use ignite again if they fix it as it only does dmg for 1 buff even if you strip 3 which sucks.
