I went and saw it today, was a pretty good movie (Even though it got pretty bad ratings). I kept thinking of Avatar, and how they seemed sort of similar (not really). But yeah, all in all, quite a good movie, recommend it to you guys. I loved it when Zeus was like "Release the Kraken!"
What you do or say in any game is a small extension of who you really are. It's the anonymity that can allow them to show their true self, or who they would be if there was no "penalty" for their actions.

The story had a central theme to it overall; however, there weren't many elements to link the events intimately together. The story seemed pieced and not a complete united story. Didn't really let you get into the characters, the scenery, etc.

Maybe most people's expectations were just set too high. The thing is, I felt like I was watching a TV show, not a big-budget movie. The crappy acting from everyone - both main characters and extras - and the horrible costume/make-up design pretty much dragged that movie down. I mean, the whole obviously fake American-British accent really gets old after a while. In addition to that, the story seemed a bit rushed. I know it's a movie and they don't have all day to do it but the production team didn't give any hint that they even tried to avoid making it feel so rushed; the whole "12 years later" thing constantly slapped on top of a 2 minute scene simply does not cut it.
Or maybe I'm just getting a little too picky with my movies. Don't know.

Did anyone else think the trailer was really really lame with the flashes of "Titans... Will.. Clash". I mean come on.. the movie is named Clash of the Titans. You fucking think titans will clash???

Other than that this movie looks pretty epic. I will wait for dvd and then acquire it.

What you describe as cons is normal of epic poetry. It seems a bit normal if you look at in the sense thats its a piece of epic poetry that made the transition to film and not just a random movie about Greek mythology but I sort of agree.
It is not a movie I would watch again.
Edit: Also, this is a remake of a very old film, Clash of the Titans (1981 film). I sort of liked the first one better but of course the action was better in the modern version.

I told myself, "I'm going to watch this for the action". Didn't quite work out. The action was good. I loved the way Hades shows up. The Kraken looked awesome. Medusa looked great. Io was a fap goddess.
But...
Avatar-guy's acting wasn't good at all. Hades' voice was shitty. And his face just didn't go well with his f*cking awesome smoky body. The same goes for Zeus. Although I didn't mind the brunette look (actually, I did mind), his head just sticks out so weirdly from the rest of his glittery armor. I wanted some action from Poseidon. Attempts of humor were cheesy. Story was just alright. Had to look at the time for a handful of times.
And to top it all, I watched it in 3D. What a rip-off. I was dumb enough to get sucked into watching it in 3D. There was no f*cking difference other than the constellation intro and the credits!

It's like any good classic movie/story, just modernized. They had to throw in the whole love story theme just like Hollywood does these days. That disappointed me.
I went with my family to see it. My parents said they changed some points from the original movie. Those weird tree dudes who sent the scorpions weren't in the original apparently, so my parents had a hard time understanding what they were doing there.
The story was dull. They spent so much time and detail leading up to the kraken scene, then that was over in like 10 minutes. Also, maybe it was just me, but the kraken was lacking. Like...when it was in the water it had tentacles and stuff, but when it stood up, the tentacles were gone? I wanted more intense fight scenes, personally. The scorpions scene was cool, I'll give them that, but that was pretty much it.
Dunno. Wasn't amazing. Wasn't a total fail. I wouldn't watch it again.

it was horrible, simple as that. first of all, there WAS NO STORYLINE. it was just a poor excuse to show off some pretty decent cgi. it felt like a video game that was totally random and the final bosses died in the most pathetic way imaginable. i recommend this movie to any one who doesnt know better, or is too young to even look at the story and only focus on the effects ( though you should really just leave the theatre once medusa dies )
oh and yah the scorpions were the best part... and their existence made no sense
You guys have a bad taste hahaha I thought it was a perfectly good movie, and I would go to see it again. But I'd have to agree with you, the kraken scene was a bit short. I also liked how the chick was falling as fast / faster than the 10 tonne pieces of stone lol.

You said my point better than what I put XD. It just felt short of what you'd expect from an actual movie.
da_realest had a point about the epic poetry, like ancient greek or other ancient civilizations had; however, it's not epic poetry, it's a movie. If I wanted to watch a movie about Gilgamesh, I'd certainly want it focused on a story with deep details on characters, places, and events, than just events thrown together.
