So I've recently heard of a professor at my campus that has sexually assaulted many students and staff members. He brings in the largest funding and income though and has tenure. The only action the school has taken is to place a rule on him that no women may be in his office alone with him and his office doors must be open at all times. Female students are harassed daily by him with comments like "nice rack" as he patrols his classroom.

I'm trying to figure out a way to get parents informed, pissed off, and get rid of this piece of shit. I need ideas since if done wrong, I'd just be bringing trouble to myself. It seems there was a newspaper article published with people coming out and complaining about the assaults. Unfortunately it came out on 9/11 so it didn't gain much press and was swept away or so I heard. I've been using Google and trying to find the paper but to no avail...

Scum like this really pisses me off. I'm sure if the parents knew that this man was teaching their kids and what he's done to people around him, his ass would be forced out of this school once and for all...

Anyone else have people like this at their college? I'm sure he's prob not the only one out there. There has to be a way to get news of these creeps out there so parents of incoming students are informed.

I'm also suspicious that the president of the school might be his friend as well... :banghead:

so if there is tangible proof that he has sexually assaulted female students, why haven't those female students sued him or brought charges against him or the college yet?

And this is only tangentially related, but fuck teacher unions :)

I'm still debating whether to post that or not. If i mention the school and you're from it, you'll know almost instantly who I'm talking about unless you're a freshie. The man has a rep as a sexist pig throughout the student body, although not many know just how crazy he is.

If I decide to I'll post the school.

For now, if you have any ideas on how to get this message to spread out, I'll greatly appreciate it. I just feel like parents need to know... I'm just not sure how to do this.

Another thing is, for all the stories about this man, I can't find ANY public records of criminal activity on him. I can't imagine for the past decades no one has bothered reporting him for anything... something just doesn't feel right which is why I haven't bothered posting my location and specifics.

I've heard the reason is part the money he brings in, his friends, and his tenure. If they fire him, they'd have to fire the other teachers since it's a union.

Another thing, not everything is just rumors I've heard. I've also heard first-hand accounts from female students that he's openly hit on.

Also, some women end up thinking they deserve the assault/rape. It's not as easy to just come out and say he did it as you'd think.

Film him doing that and put it on Youtube?
Or perhaps newspapers keep their own digital archives of what they publish, I don't know... Could be worth a try.

No one in their right mind would want to be bait...

I've tried. For some unknown reason all online records of the papers vanish after 2005. -_-

My GF is going to be at the grad school there and knowing that guy is on the departmental staff pisses me off to no end. Apparently it's so known that all female incoming grad students are given a speech to avoid him...

Search a confidential person within the school, maybe one of your teachers? That's what I'd do. I've always got good contacts with a few of my teachers and it seems quite alright to tell them about something like this. Of course I don't know how it goes for you, but you could try :)

Well it is a teacher union so finding a teacher like that could be hard.

Have you tried to approach the newspaper offices? I was speaking about archives that are kept as "inside" records, stored in the newspaper's own closed network. I recon you could get what you need there, if they have such records.

And the filming; Just film it (in secret) every time he does that, make a video compilation of his actions. You could blur the faces of the "victims" if you wanted.

And I think Corevalue's advise is fine. Teachers are people too. I kind of know, as I've worked as one.

It's not just students that's victims. I'll leave it at that.

I might try and drop by the local newspaper and see if they have the story on record. It was printed on a pretty chaotic day.

It's also not just the teacher's union that's protecting him. I think the school probably wants to keep him since he's a pretty famous professor and is bringing in a lot of money. I'm at a research-heavy school so some of the professors bring in big bucks. I've heard he also makes sizable contributions to the school as well.

If you really want to do some action about this, try to make a website or post it somewhere that the College uses. I guess you would like to stay anonym. I've never met with such a thing. No wonder you are pissed.

I'm guessing your college has a 'college paper'. Would be a poor paper if they didn't want to at least investigate this.
I suggest talking to some of the writers from that paper, they may also have better ideas for getting the news out there than we do. They're probably more experienced with 'college drama' and how to deal with it.

I think this is definitely a case for the police. If you can gather some women that have been harassed by him and are willing to talk to the police about it, it will surely have an effect.

Email the dean or something.

Have one of the girls take his ass to court. Make some money.

There's no reason that kind of behavior should be tolerated by anyone.

It doesn't seem like many people are willing to talk...

I've also heard he has a streak of intimidating them and the women he preys on are usually the shy or socially awkward ones.

honestly, just try to get some stuff that would make a normal person doubt him, show it to the police, i'm more than sure they'd love to bust someone who likes to do wht tht guy does (meaning they'd work on it and finding out if it's true or not)

however, in w.e u do, just try to remain annonymous

A straight version of Hector from The History Boys springs to mind. Report him to the Police, if not go and threaten him to stop.

except Hector didn't have tenure and he didn't bother the faculty and the boys while annoyed with his habit found it more amusing and pathetic than actually feeling violated...

Yea, i'm trying to figure a way to just get the info out, without having it being attached to my wrist with a glowing neon sign.

I'm wondering though, anyone else heard of shit like this going on at ur colleges? It makes sense, high-profile professor brings in so much money to the school they can't afford to lose him so they protect him/her.

I'm avoiding saying where/who right now just to avoid any chance of "slander" charges... although I don't really see how it can be slander considering incoming grad students are said to have a special warning speech about him...

My business instructor was accused of the same shit when he was working at a different school. Even though he was innocent and didn't even know who accused him, they told him there would be a hearing involving something "they knew he did." But that's all they told him. In sexual assault/harassment charges there's a huge burden on the accused to prove their innocence. And they won't tell the accused who is charging them or for what in order to protect them.

Apparently the female student that said he pulled all of this stuff was some quiet girl that he met with once about her failing grades, and wanted to use the harassment charges as a way to get her GPA back to normal.
