Alright so I decided to start recording my gameplay on the computer, mainly CS:S but I'll record some other just for the sake of having stuff to train with.
First off, which program should I use? I'm using the XFire camera at the moment, is it good?
Second, which program should I use for video editing? I'm a real newbie, all I've done so far was messing around with Windows Movie Maker.
Last but not least, where can I learn about video editing? Any specific websites?
Thank you.
PS: I wasn't sure if this should go into the Artists Corner, but I posted it here since it has more users therefore more people will look at this :3

recording: fraps I notice that xfire starts to get soundlag after a while. I've never noticed such issues on fraps even on my really crappy old computer. editing: Sony Vegas and/or adobe After effects. Windows movie maker is good to begin with though. If your a complete noob, stick with WMM for a while. at least to get a sense of how to put frames well together and how not to overdo effects, seeing as it will be very tempting with Vegas or AE. websites? dunno. does this work ? http://filmmakeriq.com/2008/10/202-sony ... tutorials/

fraps is laggy and slows you down when using it, i found xfire had worst quality but was better for not lagging. xfire imo.
as for software i find that adobe premiere is excellent or if you have access to final cut pro.
but i'm telling you, it's very hard to get into, at least for me it was. after using final cut pro though and learning it inside out i find it's much better then sony vegas or adobe.

I started out with Sony vegas pro 9.0 People say it's hard to use, but if you follow the YouTube guides for SVP 9.0 you won't expierience any problems. Even if you are not english like me you won't have any difficulties with the programm. See my vid I made in the first week that I got SVP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbxAMEIfME
