Jesus, Activision-Blizzard is getting killed in the reviews. I'll post one I just read on amazon.com
I loved the original starcraft. It was well balanced, entertaining, and had amazing multiplayer. At first glance, SC2 would seem to be a perfect continuation of this. It looks beautiful, and Blizzard is known for making excellent games. However, I think their merger with activision has resulted in Blizzard abandoning everything that made them great. Here's a list of things that SC2 lacks: -No Protoss Campaign -No Zerg Campaign These two things alone are enough to cost SC2 at least a couple of stars. Essentially, Blizzard has removed 2/3rds of the single player game, and then charged you $10 more for it. But the single player game only lasts so long, the true beauty of this game is in the multiplayer, right? Wrong. -No Chat rooms -No cross-region play. This means that if you have friends in say...Europe, and you live in America, you will not be able to play with them. You will have to pay ANOTHER $60 to buy the European region version game and then install that. -No LAN. One of the things that was really popular about SC1 was LAN play. It's why there were massive SC1 tournaments. BlizzardActivision has decided that they don't want people to have tournaments. -Adding friends is difficult. If you want to add a friend, you have to have them email you their contact information, which you'll then have to copy into SC2. Its just a kick in the face for people who want to play with friends. -No offline mode.
So if you're single-player time of person, you're getting 1/3rd of a game for $60. If you're a multiplayer gamer, BlizzardActivision gutted the multiplayer. Either way, we lose.

BlizzardActivision has decided that they don't want people to have tournaments. No,they don't want 99,8% of SEA to pirate the game and play on Garena. Can't blame them, they've learned from what happened with WC3.

I think (long ago) I read on the starcraft site that they won't cost the full price...? I think something like 35 - 40 euro's (full game is 55). which I guess would be $45-50. and PC game prices fall fairly quickly anyway =/.
but the reviewers just sounded kinda histerical like they thought there wouldn't be a zerg/protoss campaign at all.

that I have no idea. that really is stupid =/
maybe to avoid cheat/hack spam en masse. I'm sure the old chat rooms were spammed to death by stuff like that...? (though I have no idea, have never bought a blizard game legally. starcraft 2 will be a first).

about the price of expansions: Kotaku: Quote: How much will it cost?
There is no definite answer for this but it has been suggested by Blizzard's Rob Pardo that it will be priced as an expansion pack. If we base this off of their World of Warcraft expansion packs then we're looking at around $30 to $40. oh and lol:

If you look at the gaming sites (IGN/Gamespot) they haven't released reviews yet because they say there's way too much. They have short blog posts and they have been raving about the game.

starcraft 2 and bnet 2 should have separate reviews, that'll make things easier.

I'm going to wait until I finish the campaign and become a bit more familiar with the gameplay before I head into multiplayer.

Alright, brutal is Farking hard (in a good way). You can't just relax and play and enjoy the game, it makes you work for the wins. On the zombie map I had to float all my buildings and take out the last 13 buildings with my last 16 units, it was pretty intense.

I haven't bought the game yet, I'm building a new computer so I'm waiting on the parts to get here. I have a question though, I heard that you had to pay to play, like a subscription, not just paying to get like the cd key. Is that true, do you need to pay a fee, like monthly or something to play multiplayer?

I made supply depot walls w/ 2 bunkers each and 2 scv's per bunker, moved out at night and killed a bit then moved back defended. Took me 2 tries. So far the hardest mission has been the 3rd memory mission. I've gotten owned 4 times now, each taking >30 minutes -_-

But I can't get all the achievements :/ 3rd memory was pretty easy after you get pheonixes. You just lift the hybrids off the ground and prioritize broodlords and 2500 is pretty easy. 3250 is really hard.

I use gravity whatever on the hybrids but I still get wrecked after saving the library. Like 2 minutes later shit comes from all sides and just owns my ground forces entirely. I always seem out of minerals -_- and building at the gold expo does NOT work, it gets owned by lings the first wave. Rageeee I've been rebuilding each wall of cannons each time a wave comes, maybe I shouldn't and keep my resources? Then I feel my ground units would get hammered though. =\

Don't waste resources on cannons. I built colossus exclusively until I could get void rays, then I built colossus and voids (keeping about 8 pheonixes around. I didn't build a single cannon, after I started getting low on gas I added 6 gates and just massed zealots with left over minerals to take damage for my colossi. Finally: Now I just need zeratul and a cool zerg portrait so I can ladder in style. =) 3 Tips for brutal: 1. Don't forget the secret mission before you go to char, if you don't know what I'm talking about google it before Char or you're gonna waste another 3 hours getting your kerrigan portrait (like I did). 2. Armory upgrade units you'll actually use, sounds obvious, but at the end I wish I had another 200k that I wasted on things that sounded cool at the time. 3. Save a lot.
