this I pulled off a post on srotavern, p.s for those wondering santa claus is the mastermind behind this business with the 500+ acc listing

evertyhing its cos Santa Claus starts vendeta against a botters. U dont know anything becouse ADMIN of silkroad tavern dont understand idea of action and all the time delete our manifest.

LEGIT PLAYERS U DONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNTS NO ONE HACKED JOYMAX DATA BASE !!

ONLY BOT DB WAS HACKED

this is couple Santa's rules

1 - i have this account informations only from 100% "bot-surces" (!)
2 - i have good work at real life and dont need to make 5dollars from game (lol)
3 - i do this only against boters!
4 - if joymax contact me and tell "ok santa! tell us what solutions u have and we think about this" i answer any question - i will tell my name / real email / nicks of my real characters (even if they ban me!) and all my information sources!
5 - i really want to make this game fairplay!

this is a FAQ of all action

Q: How many accounts you have?
A: Count consist of five numbers

Q: Where you get that accounts?
A: I am not reveal the sources, but I can tell I have a three sources, which allow me to receive botters information in continual way.

Q: When you start collecting this informations?
A: Idea born in my head in July, mass gaining start at begining of September.

Q: Why you robbing this accounts?
A: Because I am normal polish man - I drink a tankers of Vodka, and stealing everything (Mikolaj talk about stereotypes)

Q: What is the value of all things what you stealed?
A: I am not steald even 10% of all accounts what I have, but the value for today is a count of ten numbers.

Q: If there is so much of it, can you give me something?
A: Nothing for free... If you help with my project, you can be sure I dont forgot about you on christmas wink.gif (Mikołaj in Poland is a Santa Claus).

Q: Who is helping you?
A: Ten peoples + including admin of this site (propably admin is helping with webspace, only.).

Q: On what server you playing with your own character?
A: I am not betray this, but the most liked by me servers are Venice and Greece. From this two servers origniate Santas "zolls".

Q: Can you take care with bot "xxx" from server "xxx"?
A: I am not takeing such a stupid orders. Botters you can report via bug-report on silkroadonline.net

Q: How we can be sure did all of this accounts are a botters accounts?
A: Information are not from JoyMax database, and list of all players! Informations are from sources related to firms selling a bots, cracks etc. Sources give a 100% sure. THAT IS NOT A NON BOTTERS PLAYERS ACCOUNTS!

Q: I used once a bot - why I am must be punished?
A: Change a "why" for nothing and question marks for exlamation point.
<---LOL

Q: What I have to do when I used a bot, but now I am regret for it?
A: Humans learning on mistakes, you should make a new account.

Q: If Bot change a password, did he can feel safe?
A: No.

Q: What we can do with publicated list of accounts?
A: Naturally use it. Some of them are not cleaned, you can drop items for "noobs", and beat some PK lvl. (I am personally use all skillpoints for stupid skills - note by translator).

F.A.Q. will be actualised.

But for gods sake then why lots of people get random invitations to party/exchange and stuff? Why everybody here talking about hackers? And why NOT ONLY botters get hacked? Or should i believe that everyone here in this forum that got hacked are bot users? This is too serious to be considered as santa's jokes :banghead:

Power of suggestion. There are no new hacks, just this guy revealing bot-accounts.

okee here is a section from the ANTI BOT MANIFEST where it lists some his demands/suggestions:

If anyone in your company have used his or her brain and will move his ass to solve this problem... I am waiting for response. And I`m offering a solution of problems written below - without any costly changes or intense GM`s work:

* Liquidation of 95% actual boters population in a way that will guarantee that none of them have been punished without a cause

* Silk-Assistant list, consisting authentic players, not randomly chosen list of dishonest players, while most of them are people that don`t know a thing about this task or are using bots as well.

* Liquidation of CCF abuse connected to new kind of alchemy (Astral/Immortal)

* Pointing some critical mistakes that give access to account and password database (Yes! There is such "crack"!)

* Liquidation of trading abuse (it is connected with one line of the game`s code).

* Liquidation of DC evoke possibility (Yes! This "crack" also is used by dishonest players)

^^ now that one in bold about the "trading abuse" could be, I think, referring to the "exchange hack".

Now I'm not sure whether I'm more excited for the desert to open or more excited to see what high lvls are gonna be on santas list :D

Or it could also mean a new hack related to "trading" (like trade runs, caravan) of which we don't know yet :banghead:

First of all lots of people who never botted got hacked so SDFU..
I.E. As Chaby said he never botted and his ID was on global last day..

And for god sake don't you think he's tooooo nice for a hacker? I mean stealing only 10% of all the accounts he got..

I bet he's a 9 years old child trying to fool idiots like you...

Edit: and oh yeah how the hell he's going to hack again someone botted in the past and changed his password?!

^^ .

anyway all this stuff was published along with the very big list of botter acc info. Some names i recognize, most i did not, but the list only promise to get bigger.

The list was published on main page of a polish sro website/forum, similar to what we have here.

I'm sure their site have reputation to look out for same as we do here and would not support this cause if it was not believed in as a good cause to benefit the honest player.

The mastermind of this has even been clever to adopt the santa claus persona, fitting since he is creating list of who naughty and nice, if this plan of his happens as it is said , than he will be famous in SRO ,will probably have even saved the game.

Theres no reason to not support santa claus plan, the goals are laid out in great detail though they are in fact simple. Even if there is no evidence it will happen, you should still wish for it to happen...if you are legit player :D

edit* ID names can be pulled off the official silkroadonline.net forums, that is nothin do with what they are claiming here

To hack a bot account = good.
To hack a legit player account = evil.
Is there anyone who thinks that there is a clear difference between bot and legit player account information in the joymax database? If yes, then ur wrong.

Then how did he get those four dozen pages of login names and passwords? I logged into a few at random. They all worked. They were all stripped, although who can tell by whom, since the list was made public?

There is more than one way to steal account info. For starters, everyone who has ever posted in the public areas of the official forums since they switched to phpbb has compromised their user ID. Of those people, anyone with a ridiculously simple password has probably been hacked by now. The list released by "Santa" contains many passwords that are 8+ digits, alphanumeric, and containing no dictionary words. To brute force one, or even a handful of these, is certainly possible; but in these numbers? I do not believe anyone has the motive and resources to do that.

I tried out several of those hacked accounts too. All chars were stripped but they names were normal (not so common for bots) and some passwords were quite complex, although some were like "123456" :D

Not common for gold bots, maybe. Perfectly ordinary for regular players, most of whom try out the game before the bot, no the other way around.

It is the bot program they are claiming to be gaining the acc's from, from what I understand there is a bot server which routes information to the the SRO server so perhaps by hacking that they are getting only botter acc info? I am not technical with these things, so invite anyone to speculate if that is possible.

Also I do not know how innocent everyone who post "help i been hacked" truly is, I wish I could sit over each person shoulder from day 1 and watch them level their character and see who they talk to and what information they give out so I could truly believe 100% they are innocent instead of oh.. 55%

I take anything i read here with a grain of salt and to be fair I do the same with the 'anti-bot manifest' , though I hope it to be true as it is written.

Only one thing I am certain is in the game I spent a long time levelling among many botter, we all have..and I have very good memory. Im sure all of you have mental note of at least names of some of the botter you ahve encountered. So only thing to do is wait and hope they are on the next list

"Some guy" saw "them" in "some forums" is irritatingly vague. When your post makes sense, I will respond.

go to silkroad-online.pl the list is published (link on the main page) the manifest is published there too sign by the santa character. Why would the owner of the site discredit himself and the website by prominently publishing a list someone just found on some forum along with the ranting and raving of someone who just want to get famous? Santa has many helpers as we know , who claim responsibilty is not as important as the act itself

How could I support this?

As much as a bot sucks, hacking an account, logging into it, stripping it, and publicly posting the account login information is no better than botting itself.

How would I look in Joymax's eyes if I publicly supported these actions?

Remember this is a Silkroad fansite and we abide by all Joymax policies as best we can, even if they do piss us off.

Look at that guy - he sounds like a terrorist!

He makes demands. He threatens. He has a 'master plan' of dumping all the gold into the market to ruin the economy.

Well, somone had to do it.
I agree to an extent, posting the logins isn't that necessary....
Sending bot lists to the bug report is. :P

I laughed when I saw the list and the size of it... it's about time SOMEONE did something about botting, if Joymax aren't doing anything..

I looked at the list. Being a long bot hunter, I hoped to find some of the biggies from my server... I found something interesting. ArchSeraphim. He was hacked when the "cracked" bot came out, the one that JMerlin published. I went to bot258's site and read what they had to say about it. According to the site, not one single person on that list is one of their customers. Someone posted a link to a POLISH bot that is out there, the one that supposedly has the autoresponse (which apparently the 258 one doesnt have) and is free. Seems to me like they made a bot and are using it to hack ppl, then publish. Either way, I dont know what to think about them. I do know that where I live vigilanteism is illegal. Taking the law into your own hands and making yourself judge, jury and executioner is a bit of an abuse.

ALso, there are several PWs in there that are too complicated for MD5 hashes. They MUST have been gotten using a keylogger.

The bot258 bot has auto response. It has had it for months. Your not a very good bot hunter. :P

Bot258 can claim alot, they even got cut off from reselling the bot when they were not doing a good job to the botters.
