Too expensive. $9 for a monkey for a month, then like $4-5 a month after that. Nah, don't think so.

Oh yeah.. much too expensive,
I do like the idea of the 10000 arrows in one iventory slot for the archers though...
and the pots too for that matter, but be damned if I'm gunna pay that much for the crappy stuff they are selling...
The SP reset though I am interested if anyone has tried it and if it is worth the cash.. I have no problem getting curst heart, already collected over 200 and used 150 of them

Wow that is nothing for people who work.. even for people w/ minimum wage who can make that in 1 1/2 hours work.. It might be overprices to 12 year olds..

It's got nothing to do with what people can or can not afford, it's about the value of the product to the potential customer.
I'm sure you could afford a bag of dog shit for $5, but would you buy it if I offered it to you? Probably not, because even though you can easily afford it, it's not worth it to you. It's the same - I think - with a lot of people and these things they offer in the Item Mall.
I would, however, consider buying several of them for SRO gold.

Some people, have parents that are anti-internet freaks and won't let me use their credit cards for nothing.

I don't even have a credit card, and I doubt I'll ever get one. It's a matter of principle.

Well just to stay competitive, a monthly gold exp plan is a must, and a monkey for ranged users. It comes out to more than the monthly fee of games that spent more time in development and production, but I guess it's to compensate for the users who don't use item mall.
The concept is interesting, I wonder if this financial structure will work long-term for a MMORPG, don't see why it wouldn't with insane grinding times at the high levels.

I sympathize, but good luck if you ever need a loan with no credit history.

the prices aren't really that bad, when you think about it. sure, some of them seem overpriced, but you don't HAVE to buy them. the only reason to get any of it is help out your character. if you don't want to spend the money to do it, then don't.
besides, let's take an example. the double exp thing(4 week) is about 13 bucks i believe. that's less than you'd pay to even PLAY most other mmorpgs for a month, so how is that overpriced?
they have to pay for the game somehow, and most likely they'd like to make a profit, so the founders don't have to live at work or in a car. games go bankrupt all the time, and that's even with a monthly fee.
if you want to look at it another way, try this: the game is free, if you support what they're doing, throw them a few bucks as a donation to help them keep it running. if you do, they'll give you an in-game item for it.
in another thread about clan donations, everybody pretty much agreed that if you like the guild and support them, you'd help out with gold and items. it's no different in real life.

The value of the item mall is worth the value it is sold, even more. It's not like its 9 bucks for one day, its for like 3 weeks or a month. It is sooooo hard to lvl after like 30, and most people will buy that in an instant..

Kids around here can't get a job until they're 16. Even then you get low wages.

I had a paper route when I was 10 years old.. or somewhere at that age range. Only got up early on SUNDAYS. Weekdays I would get off school, grab the paper stacks left on my driveway, put them in my bike bag and deliver them after school and then come back for homework, dinner and then recreation. Sundays were a b!tch though. I don't know about anywhere else, but where I was at, I had to put all the papers together. This means I would get stacks for something like 300 houses, then put every section of the paper with every insert and form up 300 papers, and then deliver them. Oh yah, weekday papers I could fit like 30 or 35 in my bag, so I had to make like 10 trips out. Sunday papers I was lucky if I could fit 8. That was a small Sunday paper if I could get 8 in a bag. I would work from 3am to noon every Sunday and then crash.
But then again, I had spending money at 10 years old and none of my friends did. I usually had around $200-300 a month. Thinking back, it was more work for the least amount of money I've ever had the opportunity to do but then again, it's not like I had any other option at that age either for extra income.

I think its fine. Think about it, are these extras needed to enjoy SRO? No, they're just fun add-ons to help fund the creators. Pets do nothing but loot, arrows just save space, and those exp scrolls... Mmmmm... Exp scrolls....

ok guys honestly.... i dont know what the big deal is. now let me start this by saying yes i do have a good job, yes i am financially stale... but comon!!! if you wanted to go buy the latest game at best buy r whatever you guys have it would cost you 50USD. you have now played a game, for me and some others, for 6 months for free. i would pay 50$ to play a game with the kind of developement that has gone into this- and the beautiful part about item mall is.... YOU DONT HAVE TO USE IT! you can buy those items from a stall if you want.... do your trade runs and make the money guys! then you can get a gold ticket too even if you feel it is bullshit to pay for anything in this game
