Since my CPU is shitty to run COD:BO and SC2, i am thinking of buying a new CPU but i can't decide between these two.

1. http://www.mwave.com.au/sku-19010136-In ... _FSB_6MB_L

2. http://www.mwave.com.au/sku-19010175-In ... z_FSB_2x2M

I thought that Quad was better, but they have similar pricing.

my motherboard is this btw: http://www.asus.com.au/product.aspx?P_I ... IBSb2rEWNa
just to re-assure that i can run these CPU.

im a PC noob so dont judge :P ty in advance

@ Newegg.ca they're $185, not sure how your currency matches up to canadian currency though. Unless you want to upgrade to an i5 with a new motherboard & ram, then that should probably suffice.

whats a GPU ahaha? if it means graphics card then i have a Nvidia Geforce 9800GT.
I just bought the quad core so yer, should get it in about 3 days or so.

When i do get it should i self install it or would it be too risky because i will
probably just follow some guide or bring it to some comp shop to do it for me but
i really dont wanna spend money lol.

Not entirely sure of how good a 9800GT is for black ops/sc2 but I don't think you should be counting on this CPU to let you max these games out.

I'm not expecting to max out the setting but at least make the gameplay smoother lol
this is what the card is like when maxed on black ops -

which isnt that great but lowering the settings abit will prob make the game run smoother.

The Core2Quad Q8400 is great. I'm very pleased with it, it's easily overclockable if you really need to do that, and it's overall performance is great for its price.

Either way the q8400 is still a good cpu and you'll definitely notice a difference in SC2. It's much more CPU heavy.
