 Post subject: Nuke Spells?

I've seen there are nuke spells for lightning, cold and others once you reach level 30 or so.

When I hovered over it, it says it does approx (200?) or so damage. But when people used them on me, it did over 2000 damage.

So I am not understanding.

Also, when we fought that 'play war' that one guy used a ranged cold nuke on me, that gave me frostbite.

Is this a level 30 spell? Did I really stand toe-to-toe with a melee char 30+ ?

Please enlighten.

I have no idea, but I've seen what you're talking about. I watched this guy nuke some tigers with 4000+ damage with the ranged lightning attack.

There should be a percentage modifier beside the dmg. The dmg calculation is a bit on the complicated side. It's dependant on your build and phys or int ratio etc. Best thread i've seen try to explain it is http://www.silkroadtavern.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5390

i think if u are pure int u get a greater power from the nukes, like me am pure str so i only make 400 damage with it.

those skills are for int users.. once they reach lvl 30 they can learn it.
it does alot of damage,, alot more compare to a high damage pure str skill
but in order for u to get that massive damge from the spell u must be a pure int build and we all know pure int = less life
that skill when used on a same lvl target it wouldn't be that great but in ur case 2000+ damage its b/c ur lvl is way lower than the caster.. and reason y its say 200 damage on the skill board and the caster did more damge than that its b/c of the % of the skill.. ex: blahblah 100-200 /300%
that would = 300-600.. :) correct me if i'm wrong

and the range frost bite skill. that skill did not give any damage other than give u frost bite..in other word that skill is usless

Frostbite useless?

Well, it does slow me down a hella lot on attacks and moving :(

I found rings and junk that reduce frostbite time, but its only like 3% - now that is truly useless

Unless every item had 3% and you could get it up to maybe...15%? Thats a....little better.

LOL I want a ring like D2 Had... "Cannot be Frozen".

theres universial pills u can use to get rid of burned or freeze.. any abnormal status :P

try using pills when up against an ice sword/shield theif when your on a trade run, basically a waste, they hit so fast the effct is instantly put on you after using the pill, and if you mange to hit the bugger his shield blocks it, the feckers have blocked my hits 8 times in a row before. best way to get rid of them is have a buddy with you to whack it while its attacking you

Sorry to dredge up this thread from a while ago, but I thought I'd mention that I recently came across a ring that reduced burn time by 19%. Now, if multiple such items stack, then one could theoretically immunize one's character against a status effect completely.

Well I know this thread is dead but something I would like to point out is that there's a skill in the fire tree wich gives immunity to abnormal status, I believe. Well not 100% but if you max it + nice jewelry you can be totally immune. :D

i remember my friend was lvl 30 so was i my nuks did 2k more damage then his cause he was pure str ( that damage is not real just saying mine were alot stronger)

the lvl 30 nuke has like 10% chance to freeze and 30% chance to frostbite.
