I thought it was a cool build until I saw you paired that cpu with that gpu, the power supply didnt make sense then and overall sound logic was lost.
In short I think know you could've spent your money a lot more efficiently and gotten a lot more compute power for your cash.

In short I think know you could've spent your money a lot more efficiently and gotten a lot more compute power for your cash. That PSU should be efficient. And he hasn't said how much it Cost him. Which I would actually like to know now. My initial thoughts are: Should have went for the full 1TB(I know 750GB seems like enough, but I thought 500GB was enough and I was wrong) Full HD videos are 3x Larger than a normal SD. For instance 1 45 minute episode of a show in HD is a full 1GB. A full Season of an average 20 Episodes is 20GB. Then comes the Music. 128kb bitrates vs 256kb or 320kb is 2-3 times larger per file. (which is worth it if your going to get a great soundcard) As for the GPU, I would have went for the Sapphire 100284L Radeon HD 5750 1GBFor only a couple more bucks. Going for that GPU I would accompany it with an i7, but the i7 1156 Series Seems like a waste. This Intel Core i7 950 Processor BX80601950 - 3.06GHz, 8MB L3 Cache is a much better way to spend your money, but then you need to also change the motherboard to a 1366 which there are better options for that as well. Shame you already ordered it.

Wow crash and burn here on my side The HDD I have already have... The whole computer cost 782$ With windows 7 931$ and taxes 1102.81$ Well, there's room for upgrades I built this computer for longevity, and sturdy for handeling many tasks at once. I don't play hardcore games like Crysis... I had a very limited budget and I busted it with this so don't hate soooo much and what is thermal paste, I never heard of it...

Google "Arctic Silver" for a start, that's one of the brands I use. It's the stuff you put between the CPU and the CPU fan. BTW, I didn't see a fan/heatsink included, I'm assuming you're just going to use the Intel fan?

IMO thats a very good comp for the years to come. I think it will last you at least 2 years with good performances, especially if you dont play super high requierement games. Im kinda jealous, my father bought a new comp, I though i was finally going to play SC2 on grpahics higher than low with no lag....boy was I wrong. we got a core 2 duo, 2.0ghz with a crappy video card. Nice buy!

This, don't waste your money, the included paste is more than sufficient. @Blackdragon6 What you said is more of the same bad decisions I criticized on my first post.

If you're not going to play demanding games then an AMD Athlon x4 could of easily cut it for you. I have the Athlon x4 620 at 3.2Ghz and it keeps up in demanding games. Because the 620 is pretty much gone there is the 640 that is 3.0Ghz stock. Hell you could of gone with the phenom x6 for the same price as an i5. not saying it is a bad build but there are a few things that could of dropped the price by a few hundred.

Yes I know, I had another system, that cost a little bit less, but I went for intel anyways, since i've always had intel and it never let me down..

I have that case. It`s easily the best case I have ever owned and probably ever seen with my own eyes.
I also have a caviar black, but at 500gb. I have a green for storage.

The computer is more than enough for probably any games you're going to get IMO. I don't think it's a bad purchase, there's always going to be those "good deals" that you'll miss.

I just noticed today that you were the one who added the part about the computer case.
Now I feel bad for saying it's hideous :'(

yea... you couldve done a lot better... uhm. that PSU is not going to be enough i think. also the airflow produced by that case doesnt look sufficient enough, what kind of fans did you buy? what kind of cpu cooler did u buy? You shouldve gone on tigerdirect and bought a barebones kit, much cheaper and much more bang for your buck. Also you shouldve probably waited a for months for intel and ati to roll out there newer model CPU's and GPU's >_< http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... &CatId=332All your missing in this BB is an HD for $50.. a vid card for maybe $60 and an optical drive you can find for another $50. for a total of $960 and 2x better then ur PC and cheaper >_> If you dont like AMD builds here's an i7 intel build for cheaper: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... &CatId=333 Only $579 and all your missing in this build is a GPU and a few fans of course. but the $500 difference in price leaves a lot of room for a better GPU.... Also.. why did you buy an OS? just burn one on a CD and load it up onto your new computer. The end >_>

the PSU is too much actually, could of gotten away with at least 500 if not less. The i5 comes with a cpu cooler that is enough for standard uses. Quote: You shouldve gone on tigerdirect and bought a barebones kit, much cheaper and much more bang for your buck.
depends if they include a cheap item that isn't worth it (as they do that a lot) Quote: Also you shouldve probably waited a for months for intel and ati to roll out there newer model CPU's and GPU's >_< http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... First one is factory overclocked not worth it and non name brand RAM from what I could tell. Second one cheap motherboard not worth it. You only save $50 also. Would rather get a better motherboard and spend an extra $50. Quote: Also.. why did you buy an OS? just burn one on a CD and load it up onto your new computer.
The end >_> If everyone thought like you did then Linux would be the only OS. Microsoft needs money to continue making your precious Windows. They might be making a lot of money but look at the PC gaming industry. It died due to pirating.
