The arguments of which I can remember are all based on religion. If were going to disallow gay marriage because of the Bible, we should also legalize slavery and abolish women rights.
Fun fact: Google pays some of its employees a premium when same-sex couples have to pay more in taxes because their relationship status is not recognized by the state.
since i made the thread.. soo here we go.. even though i think its wrong and i'm totally against it and its against my religion and my concepts in life.. however i still approve it because i believe no matter what i believe in and whats my opinion that doesn't give me the right to treat some one differently or look upon him unequally.. when it comes to marriage it's the same because my opinion or what i believe in should interfere with a human's happiness.. except for doron ofc!!!
how many times did you try to prevent yourself from anal cancer !!! i dunno where you come up with this shit.. i just hope its not your doctor who told you so

Doctor Cpinney does not lie, he's a doctor for crist sake! He saved my life many times in that truck stop bathroom/doctor's office.
I don't see any reason why people should be against it. It really doesn't affect them in any way. Then again, most of the people who are against it belong to some form of religion so... let's not even go there.
@Amarisa: No. Religion was not involved in marriage until later on. It was 'created' around the concept of childbirth. Just as lions would kill the offspring of the former male, men wanted to ensure that their wife will serve as a vessel exclusively for their offspring only. But you're more than welcome to think otherwise. The whole idea of love and marriage is more of a contemporary take on it. So if gay people want to get married, I really don't know why religion feels like it should have a say on that.

It shouldn't matter. Marriage was made by religion. It should remain religion's "thing."
The Greeks practiced pederasty and didn't have conceive sexual orientations; they were cool with homosexuality.
Correct me if i'm wrong but if the Greeks proceeded the Romans, and the Romans crucified Jesus, and Christianity predates Islam, homosexuality would have been culturally accepted long before the aforementioned religions existed or began to define marriage?
We know that Sumerian society had marriage laws. The institution of marriage has long existed and has not been completely conserved. It is not, to an important degree, religion's "thing".
1) Marriage itself exists outside of religion. 2) Gays want marriage for the ability to say we are married, and for the fact that marriage grants many new rights and privileges. 3) Homosexuality occurs naturally in nature. 4) Most gays will not hit on you if you are straight. Same way just because you're straight doesn't mean you hit on every ugly-ass person in the world as well. 5) Most reasons against gay marriage has to do with religion. If you are prohibiting it simply because it is against your religion, then I'm sure your religion has a thing against all the other religions out there. Should they all be banned too? 6) Time for people to learn to keep secular things secular, and religious things religious. 7) Gays don't have to get married in a church. They should have the right to get their damn license. Especially when some have been living together LONGER than straight couples.

It's not like they can't be happy if they don't get married.
With that logic, straight couple can be happy without getting married too. Why bother then.
O yea, because if you have no living relative, the government takes hold of all your asset. Wait, what about that same-sex civil union partner, shouldn't they get something. Nope, that doesn't count. Only married couples get to have the deceased person's property.

Let me explain to you why you are wrong. Only marriages in church are true marriages because that is when the ceremony is before god. To have a wedding in church you have to belong to that church. You have to think of it like this; A religion is like a club and clubs have rules if you don't follow the rules you get kicked out and if you get kicked out you don't belong to that church anymore right? Same sex couples do not feel as connected lovingly to each other as a regular/normal boy/girl couple do. For those people its more like they are in the moment and once that moment is gone then they come back to reality. The rules of the church AKA our club is that you cannot marry a person of the same sex or animals or everyday objects. It's in the constitution AND the Bill Of Rights. It's what this country was founded on and if you can't deal with that then get out of the country!

You don't have to be in a church to get married I've been to a few weddings in the past year and I did the photography for two of them... none of them were church weddings. So......??????
And it's been established that marriage does not belong and was not invented by your club.

Wow... I guess some people have been "in the moment" for uhh... 50+ years? The amount of facts you put in to that statement is quite astonishing.
