I don't care...thats my vote...that is until someone (whether gay or straight) tries to tell me what is/isn't acceptable or what is/isn't normal. Most of us only form opinions based on our experiences which can at times be a retarded thing.

Marriage should be treated as a contractual agreement between two or more freely associating people. Take the State and Church out of the whole matter.

I'll either die or turn straight and get married by 30.

Buy guns to stop people who have guns killing you with guns. Vicious cycle.

If someone was really determined to kill someone with a gun they're going to get a gun and kill that person. Just like if someone really wants to get strung up on some heroin they're going to do it. Making it illegal or harder for normal/average citizens to obtain is silly. What The State should do is make is harder for mentality unstable and those with criminal records to obtain guns via regular means. If those individuals want guns they'll have to go through dangerous avenues.

How to handle the "gun problem:"
  1. Serious background check
  2. Ex-Cons cannot legally own guns
  3. The Mentally unstable (clinically diagnosed) cannot legally own guns
  4. Cooling period between license and gun ownership (cannot purchase a gun until 1 month after owning your license)
  5. Cooling period on purchase (Must wait 6 weeks before you can pick up your gun. None of that walk in, buy, and walk out.)
  6. Individuals with history of battery and assault cannot own guns

That doesn't relly account for accidental deaths. It's alot easier to accidentally kill someone with a gun than with a knife/fist.

Barotix in theory that sounds great, but you do realize tens of thousands of guns are stolen per year, also when you own a gun you are about 5 to 20 times more likely to commit suicide, be in a gun related accident (duh, still bad though) etc. Also tens of thousands of guns are misplaced from gun markets... Basically background checks still fail due to fake ids etc. (look to loughner, vtech), so prior to anything being said about an actual situation with a gun, with more guns out there, stats show more idiots will get guns.

In theory? Some states already have CHL in place. Someone stealing a gun is not someone obtaining a gun through legal means. Accidents are bound to happen when anything potentially lethal is involved. Are we going to start lobbying for the banning of anything with the potential to cause harm? I don't understand why you don't want law-abiding citizens to own guns. Because someone might steal their gun? Sounds like a problem with the criminal and not the law-abiding citizen. You really ought to make that distinction when considering gun related accidents. My point is a criminal with homicidal intent is going to get a gun no matter what so why make it impossible for law-abiding citizens to obtain them for self-defense?

Because Barotix (im only responding to the last line because I thought I addressed it sufficiently, clearly yall aren't getting the message) of course crazies will get it, but that's non-unique. NO MATTER WHAT LAWS WE HAVE, THAT WILL HAPPEN, BUT ONLY CRAZY PEOPLE, WHICH DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR NEARLY ALL OF GUN RELATED DEATHS!!! With stricter gun laws, according to empirics, we have less gun related accidents (I swear if I see the "then ban knives" argument again I am going to forever regard said arguer as a retard), less gun related deaths, and less guns being stolen. Barotix look to my previously posted empirics to show why banning guns alone is going to promote safety, and why we don't have to ban other harmful things. The law abiding citizen rarely defends himself with guns, look to stats yet again, the times where stolen guns (from LAW ABIDING CITIZENS) have been used to murder are tons of times more prevalent than the time where if a law abiding citizen had a gun, it's SPECULATED that a life may have been saved. I read the whole paragraph, and you seem to miss my point. Of course there are criminals and law abiders, however with more guns, more guns are stolen from shops and these invincible all powerful law abiding citizens who clearly can handle guns perfectly as we can see from the shockingly low rate of guns stolen and accidents.
/sarcasm
