Crayon responded to a few SA posts this morning, and while I can't post all of it, some is general information and is below.
Regarding comments about hacking the sro.net forums, database and general coding:
even though we have secured and blocked any possible avenues of attack; even though phpbb when updated does not lead to the normal result of a SQL injection attack...
I personally can't guarantee that sro.net forums are secure yet, however that was Crayon's response. I will wait for Chameleon to weigh in on this one before I go any further with it.
Regarding IP blocking of certain areas, questions received from players regarding this, and the response from Crayon was:
We have repeatedly announced and sent out e-mails as well as had fansites post that we did NOT block these regions or ISP's and that we are continually trying to contact these ISP's and other possible sources of the problems in order to work together to resolve this issue.
In addition, we have requested traceroute, IP info, telnet information from individuals affected.
I will reprint the notice that we have sent out through e-mail and fansites:
In order to assist in the resolution of the issue that is affecting some of our users, in particular Adelphia and @Home users, in regards to connection to the game and our official website; we would like those of you with issues to send your IP address, DNS server, traceroute, and telnet information to
silkroadonline@silkroadonline.net.
The method to get this information is listed below:
1. Go to the Start button.
2. Select the Run menu selection.
3. You will get a text entry box. Type in 'cmd'.
4. One you are in the windows that opens, please type: 'ipconfig /all'
5. Either send the information that comes after the 'IP Address' and 'DNS Servers' section OR take a screenshot have it hosted on an image hosting site and post the link to it in your e-mail.
6. In addition, a trace route would also be of great assistance as well. In the same window in step 4, type 'tracert 121.128.133.26'. Please post the results in the same way as step 5.
7. Finally, a telnet result would also be helpful. Repeat steps 1 to 3. In the window that opens please type the following:
telnet 121.128.133.26 15779
8. Send all this information to the address:
silkroadonline@silkroadonline.net. Because this issue is a priority issue, please do not send any other information to this address.
The rumor that Joymax has blocked these regions is completely false. This issue is currently the priority issue for us at the moment.
These answers r cut/paste - I understand that some information will be missing but I agreed to not give out information that was not meant to be public - the information above is not private and therefore can be read by all. Sorry there isn't more
