...okay I tried to dl the beta on pc and I apparently do not meet the requirements to download the game?
That's really stupid, I can run most games out atm, I'm pretty sure I could run bf3 on low graphics just fine.

Battlefield game on a small map without vehicles gets old quick. Some rounds I have fun but then I get so incredibly frustrated. I can't wait to play more maps AND I Farking HATE RUSH.

They toned down the graphics for the beta to reduce the download size, or at least that's what I heard.

I don't get why the game won't even run properly on freaking Low. I go play BF:BC2 and it runs so freaking smoothly. The graphics don't even look that different and according to their "test" I should be fine with running BF3 on Low/Med.

Anyone find this a major disappointment?
I feel like I'm playing an improved version of MAG. That's not a compliment. The hit boxes are weird as shit or it's lag. I drop dead when passing a doorway an enemy was in, receiving damage well past the doorway from said enemy and nearly 90 degrees away from his angle of fire. Wtf is that? Same thing as MOH... I hate the fact that everyone playing is dam near retarded. I haven't won a single round out of like 10.. I have been the only one defusing in almost every round. I get shot at by an enemy behind sandbags, I can't hit him back at all... He is impervious to fucking damage but he can still kill me...

I get shot at by an enemy behind sandbags, I can't hit him back at all... He is impervious to fucking damage but he can still kill me... This is right on the money, like I said a few posts back. The mechanics are dreadful it's really that simple, ppl who can't see this have no clue at all. I've already stated what I believe are the flaws in this game, you know what else I started to really really hate? The brush along the SIDE of the metro map, first part, near A, along the entire wall. That brush should NOT be there. It's retarded. "yo yo let's put more brush on this map than open land - YEA GOOD IDEA OMG, lets also put brush on the side of the map - Yea that's brilliant, let's do it - omg we're so good at making games HAHA :D:D". I think from a mapping point of view that brush is pretty much the most retarded feature of a map I have ever seen. By far my biggest concern are the retarded mechanics on bullet registry and the collision detection (part of physics). Yesterday one of my deaths was behind a rock at our SPAWN, and an enemy was shooting from down the line somewhere, and still hit me like 3 times. I was like twice my body size in cover, lol. I've also lost track of how many times I fell through the map, or got to the point where I was halfway through the floor and that results in a messy round since you can barely move. BF3, what a joke this is. Idiots do a beta less than a month before release. Oh dear, this is gonna be a huge flop they have nowhere near enough time.

Why would they show this to people like this tho? They must've tested it before going into beta -_-

And you know what the funny thing is? The only reason for this beta is marketing. A REAL beta would occur a few months before release, allowing the development teams to make changes and fixes. They are so confident in this game the beta is a month before release, and therefore it's purely for marketing strategy, trying to get more people to play and apparently they think they will like the game so much that they will buy it. EA likes doing that, with most of their games. That's the disgusting part of this.

EA likes doing that, with most of their games. That's the disgusting part of this. Except with the attitude of today's gamers is that when you release a beta they expect it to be perfect already. Thus making the developers run around trying to make it all good before it's released. The alpha felt more like a beta to me. This feels like a beta-like demo. Tripwire, the people that made Red Orchestra 2, delayed the game and the beta because they felt like it wasn't ready and something like not meeting their expectations. I don't remember the exact message, but Excuse me? A beta? It's obvious that they want the "beta" to be 'perfect' as many people think of it as a demo. There are still plenty of developers that release a beta and still actively collect information. Tripwire, Valve, and DICE are perfect examples of those developers. Tripwire acknowledge a bunch of shit that users didn't like and was wrong and fixed it during the beta. Sadly though it still launched with a bunch of bugs up the ass. What's even more sad is that the first day I was getting like 30 frames on medium. I don't play for a few days and it became 10frames. Few patches fixes things and newer patches ruins things. Far different from the beta in terms of frame lag, player lag, some mechanics, etc etc. Valve takes in A LOT of information from beta testing. Perfect example would be Portal 2. There were a ton of stuff taken out and remade. Hopefully the DLC next week will have some challenging things outside of figuring out the puzzle. By that I mean fast reactions, the blob, etc etc. Now for me to actually say was taken out of the beta would be hard as I was never apart of it, but you can do a quick google and find out that it was toned down a bit. DICE's BC2 beta was such shit on the PC as I hear often. I played it on the PS3, but I didn't play much of it. So I can't really comment much on that, but all I hear that "It's a hella lot different from the beta." It also really depends on the publisher as you said. EA with DICE is doing such a terrrrrrrrrrrible job. EA has done the following -Deny mod tools -Forced Origin -Probably forced the beta so late And a bunch of other bullshit, but the things off the top of my head that angers me the most. DICE on the other hand are doing an amazing job. They've changed Operation Metro a lot and you can see a lot of things that were added/changed. I'm sure they did Operation Metro again probably because they felt like it was that one map that needed the most attention.

Sniping takes no skill in this also. That's what I used the most and it just feels like I get kills too easy with no effort. I have over a 2.0 total I think. my worst game was like 12-8

Most of the time I have to take 2, but it still feels too easy. I took a shot at a guy that ran under the bridge in the first two objectives, hit him even though I was no where near him when I twitch scoped. I was at least 5 feet away and I still got the kill..

It's supposed to be 2 shots for a kill with the sv98, unless you shoot someone in the heart/chest or head.
I unlocked the SKS sniper rifle and it's good but it's a little too weak for a followup from the sv98 :/ The next sniper kit unlock for me is the SOFLAM, and I kind of cba getting that just to see what the next sniper rifle is.

Oh man, I am loving the MK 11, such a sweet rifle. Also, the game in general is pretty awesome as well, a bit of bugs and hitbox problems, but it's beta so whatevs. Honestly, I can safely say that this is the first time I'm enjoying rush, though I can't wait to play conquest again.

Theres a rifle that oneshots I forgot which one it was. I've seen a guy go 45-2 with it.. Funny enough I was the one that killed him twice.

SOFLAM is locked in beta. The SKS is a great rifle, but you don't snipe with it. You need to attach an RDS/ACOG/HOLO and you use it like a mid range assault rifle - it's great for the metro areas. The game classifies it as a combat rifle, not a sniper rifle.
I unlocked the rifle after the SOFLAM. It's pretty good but I can't snipe with magnified scopes - I can't wait to unlock an RDS, ACOG, or HOLO.

So there is a rifle after the SOFLAM? That's awesome, going to go for it. I'll just use the SV98 in the first part of Metro and the SKS after.

I made an SRF platoon so we can play together. For those who don't know, platoons are like steam groups; you can join multiple platoons. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/pl ... bers/True/Edit: We are up to 4 platoon members. More must join so we can play together! Edit2: Leveling tip: it's quicker to level from reward score than just combat. If you play your role and try not to die the game will reward you. Also, if you're attacking, please don't die. Each time you die your team loses one of its lives.
