I find it hilarious that everyone is complaining about the $500 price tag. 6 years ago when the PS3 was released in Australia, the retail price for a 60GB version was $1000. Hell, 13 years ago when the PS2 came out it retailed for $750! Australia man >_>
$500 for a console? If I could get even close to that price I'd consider buying a console again. I completely skipped all versions of the xbox and the PS3 due to the ridiculous prices. Lets see if that happens again (it probably will, poor student life).
Yeah these Australian prices are proper fucked up.
Seriously if the xbox was lower than 400$ I would have considered buying it, they showed some pretty nice exclusives, not being able to sell games after playing hem sucks but eh. But now its just a question of whether i should pre order PS4 or not.

@Aventus It's easy to build a computer within a $500 budget that'll similar or better specs as Xbox One. It'll probably last a year or two over X-One's half live, but by then, the price would have probably dropped anything.
It's not worth it to buy X-One at the crazy launch price, but it will be after a couple of price drops and a slim version +Boxing Day/Black Friday sale

Why would anyone build a gaming pc that's similar in spec to a Xbox there would be no point. You'd end up playing most fps's games on low settings when you could play then at better settings on a console.
^Meh that does look pretty futuristic and all, I liked the ps2 throwback with the retro look though. I like the xbox design too, just looks a little too bulky though, obviously to get a slim version in there later -__-'
Really wish Sony would have a multiplayer shooter exclusive. Halo, TitanFall, probably another Gears, and i live in 'merica so everyones shooters are all the rage. And no I really can't dig killzone or socom.

$500 pc doesn't mean you play on low settings.
I built a $550 PC last summer and it ran BF3 on high settings. 360/PS3 on the other hand, ran it mid settings at MOST.
If anybody wanted to play FPS with anything higher than Low-Mid settings, they wouldn't be playing on Console.
My point was about pc being economically feasible; so i'll expand on that. BF3 - Premium Edition is still listed as $39.99 retail price, and that's not including tax. The same game for PC goes on sale probably once a month for roughly $24 (and you don't even pay tax).
Hitman Absolution; it was launched at $59.99 and dropped down to around 20$ after a month on GreenManGaming.
Even if you spend $600-800 on a pc, the amount of money you save from games will cover the difference from what you would spend on a console.
The specs for X-One include 8GB ram, AMD 8-Core CPU, GPU similar to AMD 7790, 500GB HD, and bluray. If I build those into a PC, it would probably cost around $550 (including unnecessary bluray, mobo and a case). Keep in mind that Microsoft isn't going to be putting premium parts (like the ones in PCs) into their X-One. Their launch price is $500; so what it costs to actually build one is at least half of that.
Also, there is no "better" setting on console. There are brightness and gamma settings.

There isn't any point in comparing PC hardware to console hardware. Console games are coded to metal, making them incredibly efficient.
The PS4 is nearly 50% more powerful than the Xbox at only $399, which for example comes with 8GB of GDDR5 running at an estimated 5500MHz. The bandwidth is just insane. A $399 PC won't come close to PS4 performance for a few years.
FPS with joysticks does suck, which is why I used a M+KB on my 360. Dat 90% headshot ratio.
Everyone playing with a controller should try CS where you actually have to hit your enemy to kill them, preferably CS GO since it has smaller hitboxes.

the problem with price is that you CAN buy a pc for that price... and with a pc you have internet, video editting, unlimited customization, use of Office like products and a whole lot more!!!!
however... that does mean most people will go with microsoft windows 7 so, theyre still getting the money but its better than donating it to the X Bone.
I think the price for the xbone is too high, i know the prices in australia are insane but you have to keep it relative to country you are in and not somewhere else... the xbox one will be the highest priced console we have seen in europe (apart from neogeo?)

Isn't the PS4 just a beefed up PS3 with not much extra. The extra things would have not existed when ps3 came out so the ps4 have just included things we use more now than then.

Isn't PS3 just beefed up PS2? And 360 Xbox original? With more features. Were you expecting more? Better graphics, and features in games were all I expected, but this share stuff is pretty awesome new feature.

Killzone is fin g amazing, my favorite shooter by far and is the only thing that caught my eye of the very little I've seen of this E3.

I have a gtx 670+3570k and I'm buying a PS4. PC masterrace, but the PS4 seems promising in games. In particular Destiny and at $400? sheeeeeeeeeeit, I'm sold. Turned off by PS+ being required for MP, but honestly I don't care right now. I got PS+ lasting until 2016 because of a misprint from Target.
One thing I'm glad about, games will suddenly jump to a decent standard once again. By the looks of it flashy interactive particles will be the new ragdoll.
