Lately, I'm seeing a lot of SoS trying to be sold at enourmous prices. Right now, I'm looking at an SoS lvl 24 Glavie being sold for 5 mil, and I think its highway robbery.

I've never really used much SoS, except for my lvl 18 boots which I got at a very low price. I can't really see the addiction to SoS, although the bonus damage at a fresh degree is very nice. I've always just made due with cheaper, just as effective 'plussed' weapons. A helpful tip to remember is to think how many elixers you could buy with the price of the said item, and if you think you could use those elixers to get an equivalent +.

Sos aren't really worth getting until the 30's, IMO, since that's when leveling gets really tough and it gets harder and longer to grow out of your equip. For weapons, I guess people just buy them because it has a cool glow, or is just impatient ( Like me, lol )

So basically I guess I prefer + items.

well for me i got a +5 merchants hook glave and i compared it to a SOStar hook glave. and my +5 is better. i think people think just cause it has the fancy name of SOS they price it up to such high prices. I dont really care about SOS or stated EQ too much cause im not really a PVP person.

P.S. I love the pink glow on my weapon. 8)

well everyone who has wep elix trying to make their wep/protecters or w/e +5 so it can match a sos look at it this way,
a sos is already +5 AND u can make it +3 pretty easy (lets say 5-6 elix)
if u want to make a normal wep/protector +8 (+5 + +=+8 -_-) its more expensive (about.... uhhhhh 50 elix o.0 lol maybe lower)

Q. How much more powerful is a Seal of Star/Moon/Sun equipment in comparison to normal + bonus equipment?

Rare items each have differences in power so it is difficult to give an exact answer however in a normal approximate observation; a basic Seal of Star item will have at least a +7 equivalent value, a basic Seal of
Sun will have at least a +15 value. Seal of Moon items will occupy the middle values between the two.

The link below will probably point to the wrong story in a couple days...

Thats strange... For ingame results, I've always had it closer to +5 than +7. Oh well.

I think you two both win. I'd forgotten about Bakemaster's post (somewhere) about the drops being ~+2 NPC items. Sorry about that, ShizKnight-- Looking at SOS items as +5 in comparison with drops is perfectly legit-- I think that's what we see most of, anyway. There's not a massive market for NPC items...

if you upgrade a weapon, nothing else will change but its attack power. so a +x weapon will lack on attack rating and reinforcements compared to an sox item with the same attack power. same for armor and parry rate and so on

When you're on the later forms of that degree of weapon, it might be wise to get a +5, or +7, than using your SoS...

For example, a Level 24 SoS, versus a Level 29+5.
Level 24 SoS ~ Level 29 weapon.
Level 29+5 ~ Level 34 weapon.

Of course, the Level 29+5 is cheaper than the Level 24 SoS.

Did I just revive an old topic? :P

Sos has a higher reinforcement as the +5
Thus the +7

TBA if you compare a + weapon with the weapon it would be, the real equivalent is better.

EG
A lvl 42+6 is slightly worse as a lvl 48 clean even if you'd think they are the same.

just keep looking..not everyone sells SOS at ridiculous prices...
you can find
lvl 16 1mil (glavie)
lvl 24 2mil (glavie)
lvl 32 5mil (glavie)
lvl 42 prices go insane..but you can find ~25mil if you look.

These are prices i've paid.

Come to Alps, you can find the following all around Alps. No one seems to buy them.
1) All SoStar lvl 24 for 2M except Bow that would b 3M
2) SoStar lvl 16 Bow for 5M
3) SoStar lvl 32 for 4-6M
(I got my Bow for 4.8M)
4) SoStar lvl 42 for 17M onwards
5) SoStar lvl 52 for 30M onwards
6) SoStar lvl 64 for 100M onwards

I think its really cheap compared to the other servers.
BTW, elixirs r 140k onwards.

And, to answer your question, I think SoX r better due to its resell value. Its easier to sell your SoX too when you are done with it.
