I hate to add to the "I quit" threads, but, if you see "Treefungus" on Troy, its not me anymore, I gave it to a friend of mine.
There are so many reasons why I quit, and I'm not going to go into detail on them.
I've seen a lot of people say "Oh god, not another why WOW is better than SRO rant" and I never cared to even read them because I just was never interested in WOW.
SRO was the first MMORPG I ever played, and I have to say, I was Farking ADDICTED to this game. My wife and I played together, and we had made some good friends in the game. Every month I spent at least $40 in silk for both of us, monkey, gold tickets, etc. I did my share to support Joymax, because I enjoyed the game.
Well, honestly, one day, one thing just got to me so bad that I got
livid. Not anything new. Just some lvl 80 douches spawned on me. I deleveled back to 68. And that was it for me. I said **** it. I can't play this game anymore. Its completely insane the problems that Joymax doesn't even attempt to fix.
So, shortly after this was my birthday, and I should mention my little brother had no idea I quit Silkroad, but he bought me a WOW Burning Crusade account so I could check it out.
Man, I don't even know where to start. Every single complaint I ever had about Silkroad . . it almost seemed like Blizzard heard them, and fixed them, before I even mentioned them. I mean, I am amazed at how ridiculously more complete of a game this is. Share quests? Done. Random high level people killing you? Nope. Botters? None that I can tell. SOS Items? Kind of, and best of all, you get great items from quests. Or from jobs. I mean, I could go on and on about it.
I know a lot of you will say "Well duh, SRO is free. You pay for WOW. What do you expect?" Or something similar. And thats fine. But I payed for SRO. And alot of other people do too. And my advice to those people. Check it out. You'll probably wonder why you ever even played SRO.
I do have some great memories with this game, but that was only because of the people I played with. My guild, my union. The friends were great. Even the enemies were good for a laugh every once in a while (Here's to you, Sk4k1d).
I suppose thats it. Goodbye people. I hope you keep playing and enjoy the game, and Joymax fixes the problems. If not, I hope you check out WOW before giving up on these kinds of games altogether. I'm glad I did.
(Some of my favorite screenshots follow. They will be deleted after I post this).
Peace ppl!
