It is not a requirement for a mod on this forum to play the game, but it helps, alot. I played for over a year. The job is to keep things clean and uphold the rules and do the most good for the community in this forum. I see topics I hate and love. I have to lock and modify posts by people that are 100% dead on right. I don't like to do it, but I have to.

I have to do that to keep things clean and for the best of the community. I spend my free time doing this because I want to, not because I get paid. Times its fun, many times its just a pain in the butt because everyone believes that they are right, and when corrective action is taken inevitably those punished lash out and try to seek 'revenge'. We can never make everyone happy, only the majority.

As for being civil I almost always am (never said I wasn't). I don't play favorites, ever. If my best friend stepped out of line I'd do the same to him as I would to anyone else. I never called anyone an ass, read the post, I said "when you insult people for not explaining their opinions you are just an ass". This applies to everyone.

In fact I've acknowledged that Twysta has had some good topics. He's obviously having a bad day, we all do. He's frustrated, as many are and isn't seeing results that he wants. I'm sure he's mad that everyone doesn't believe in Joymax, sorry I gave up on them already.

I'd like to have some hope for the game as I played for a long time and still think its a good one, just horribly managed.

People have a right to their opinions, even if it's a one word one. If you don't like that ok fine, but there is no need to flame them.

Hello. This is Silk Road.

We have decided that banning bots require too much paid employee, paperwork, effort and resources. Banning bot also provide us less silk income.

This is being removed from silkroad terms and conditions.

Many sorry for fake lists previous to this decision.

You are now allowed to bot.

Happy journey on the Silk Road.

<edited out -- Stallowned>

I will never ever touch bot programs, the way i hate botters will never be understood by any1 on the planet, i make a topic about a single day, how much conversations i have with botters, it's not normal, if i get ksd by a bot ( which happens a lot, ofcourse ), only one thing goes through my mind. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE AND MORE HATE.

Not to mention i got banned off over 5 forums because of my cursing/flaming to people that use bots/flame me.

This is not a request for either of your's sympathy, i get enough of that so im really not asking you to feel sorry for me, i'm just explaining my position.

I understand your position, and i'm sorry i overreacted in the start of this topic. I just can't seem to handle it all anymore. Every time things like this happen i overreact and things get out of hand.

Still, i won't give up on Silkroad, i will continue playing it every single day. Still love it, it still gives me what i want. Tho, i have to say that it gives me more drama-moments then pleasure-moments, but i don't give up and im not planning on giving up either, simply bcause i love the game.

I will always be hating bot's and i will always have hope in a new silkroad, silkroad without bots, silkroad without goldbuyers, silkroad without CCFers, silkroad the way it should be. It's a game ... That's what many people forget.

Maybe i'm silly and i still have the dreams about this game getting better one day and therefore i support Twysta's positive intentions.
I have no message in someone else, again, pointing me out nothing is happening, i see that for myself.

This is turning nowhere of course.. every1 knows that so i'd like to put this to an end.

First of all i'd like to explain why i overreacted and why i flamed a few persons because they said "No" straight away. I'd like to ask them why they said No tho. Somehow it makes me think they bot....

Me, legit since the 1st day, i wonna see things change. Of course, that's hard to believe for probably the most of you. Tho, you have to admit it's the right thing to still believe in a legit silkroad. A silkroad with only pleasure, cause right now, it's more drama for the legits. Bot's have what they want, theres a 0.00001% chance they get banned, some people say it's because they buy silk.

Mage Pker wrote:
if you arent gonna contribute anything to the post yoda kindly leave. you're talking about things that have nothing to do with the main point of this thread

that being:

does the showing up of GM's on the servers lately show a glimmer of hope for SRO?

him needing to get laid or the definition of MMORPG or anything the hell else you've said on this thread have been nothing but spam.

like i said before;

you guys are ruining this thread with your senseless squabbles.

the SRO community is torn, dont start tearing the SRF community or we wont have anything left.

either contribute to the thread by posting something useful or be the "bigger" man and leave.

This is more then true. People should realize this and especially the sentence i highlighted.

I am always in for what's right.
What's NOT right?
Botters, they are the biggest problem in SRO besides the traffic. I hate botters in a way no1 will EVER udnerstand, i fight them, i report them, i murder them if they KS me. HATE HATE HATE, like i said be4.

I'm not an evil person, my friends know that, SRF members i've played with/play with know that. (MasterWong, Kratos, LadyOphelia and lingxiaoyu for example)
Those are also the most honest persons on these forums and especially ingame. I love you all
 .

I won't ever be changing my behavior to botters, that's just the way i am. Why do they play this game. I've been asking myself that question since ~march 06, the month where bot's began to rule the multiple new servers that came out. I left several servers because i couldn't play with them under the same roof, now, march 07 i know they probably won't ever be leaving. Tho, NEVER forget bot's are simply WRONG, they do NOT belong in games.

Call me a nolifer, go ahead. Be4 you do, i'd like to tell you i have great RL friends and a GF I've been with for nearly 4 years now. I have a great life.

I want a change in Silkroad, don't you? If i could become an employee at JM, i'd do that, FOR FREE, just to make this game better then it already is (unlike the bots)

Also i'd like to say that i'm dutch, im trying to express the way i feel about this/explain this the best i can. It's hard.

My hope for a bot-free SRO will never go. Accept it or die without.

Sympathy of mine goes out to all the people agreeing with me here and hoping the same.

I hope that is does signal a change coming, I really want to believe that. Perhaps I'm just too cynical, but I won't be holding my breath. I will continue to play, this game is a lot of fun, but then I've also just thrown up my hands and quit expecting any changes or updates or bot-banning or anything really. Since I don't expect any baseline of quality or customer support anymore, I'm no longer disappointed when it doesn't come, but if things DO change I'll be pleasantly surprised.

After every server inspection, every client update, I get my hopes up that they have finally given us some of the updates from kSRO, or implemented a bot-detection system by monitoring waypoint usage. When I look at the changelog and realize it isn't, I just sigh and log in. That's the only thing we can do right now.

the banning procedure is so stupid.

it takes them 3GMs to investigate then the 4th to ban.

with this big infestation of bots that procedure is nulled.

LOL, reminds me of the construction guys that work on the roads and what not. 20 of them standing around, looking at the dam pothole, and one with a shovel trying to patch it. I would imagine even as a GM you could easily get discouraged by seeing how many of these proverbial potholes have yet to be fixed, versus how many they do manage to fix each day.

Mage Pker wrote:
So a 2nd choice is to get off there asses and find a patch to permanatly patch bots.

this is a harder way but its been a year, the programming experts shouldve found a way by now.

Yeah, +1 definitely. They were smart enough to program the game and all it encompasses, but not smart enough to make it proprietary and deny unauthorized access to their own servers and game systems by these illegitimate software programs???

I'm wagering a guess here, but seeing as how many of our 'auto pilot' friends we find during our grinding, these companies have got to be making more cash than JM, off of JM's own dam game. Sad. But not a lost cause just yet. Just hope they finally realize that this game worth the effort to clean things up and bring about a new era on the 'road.

Until then, all we non-cheaters can do is stay legit and hope. :)

What the hell?

Your title said silkroad is gonna change.

I told you how the GM's are gonna change it.

You need to picture my text as something they would post on the front page of their official site.

NOT something I wrote to you directly.

Fixed. =)

I dont see why GM integrate themselfs with the community. Instead of just roaming around and stuff. I knew ladyasiana USED to go hunting with other players for LY. Also she PVP'd. Im sure lots of you would be soo happy if you saw a GM in the game.

I pretty much spammed her last night and I only got 1 reply. Why doesn't she join parties, grind for fun ( and ban bots while at it) , and ECT?

It seems several people do not understand that us SRF mods are just players (or ex players) of silkroad like anyone else. We each have our own opinions about the game. Some negative some positive. Just because someone does not agree with what you (not referring to anyone in particular) say does not mean the argument is invalid.

Thread locked and undergoing cleanup.
Upon Reopening:
Do not throw a fit because someone does not agree with your points.
Do not expect that moderators should be supporting joymax policy 100% of time.
This thread has potential. But a few users need to re-read their posts several times and wait a few minutes before hitting submit.
Thank you :)

Ok now let's keep this thread clean now :)

So yeah i really hope the GM's are working properly on the things that annoy the legits :)

IMO their appearance on the server is a good point itself. The temp banning of people that spam and SAY they wanna trade gold server>server.

No. On Babel they banned 3-4 botters, who stoped buying silk.

I for one don't think they will do anything on the massive and permanant basis that they need to. They will most probabaly release a mediums size ban list (mostly gold bots) then ignore the state of the game for the next few months.

This has been JMs' way for the past year, old dogs do not learn new tricks.

Apparently you don't watch mythbusters. They proved that myth false just recently.

I lost faith in Joymax to do its job effectively. Sure, they may ban one or two silk buying bots at a time, but they're not going to ban silk buying bots enmasse. That's how I feel on the matter anyway. At this point, Joymax is probably making so much $ off the bots that it's probably better business to stick with the current policy they have going right now.

Having played since June/July of last year, all I've seen is the bot problem become worse and worse. I've had it, some have already had it, and eventually most people here will realize how money grubbing Joymax really is.

i really hope something's gonna change to make the game better, but as every moment passes, i'm growing more and more annoyed (and impatient) with this game. the amount of grinding alone is enough to make a casual player leave, not to mention the all the ksing and stuff the company is not taking care of.

One of the things that I see over and over again as a complaint about companies that make games like Joymax or Jagex is that they are "money-grubbing". This is always at the same time that people insist that a game be "free".

So maybe a question that we all need to think about is whether it is a bigger case of greed to expect a game like SilkRoad to be "free" by the players ... or for the people that develop and run the game to expect to make money?

BTW ... if ksing bothers you so much, either you are grinding at the wrong spot or you need to be playing a game without other people in it. Ksing can be impolite, but it is in no way or form illegal on the game. Lower the anount of grinding needed to reach the high levels and you will end up with a game like Runescape (though with nicer graphics) overwhelmingly populated by 9 and 10 year olds with a high level not being anything very impressive at all.

I really hope things do change, but it is highly unlikely. The last bot punishment list has 20 names on each server, and none of the high level botters in Oasis got banned, so... let's dream on. :(
