This isn't necessarely about botters being nice or not, it's that we don't want all the bullshit here.
All it causes is flaming, attention whoring, and spam.

You're taking the whole "omg hate on botters" thing too far. One day, I bet one of your friends will be caught botting, and if you turn your back on them because of that, then I truly pity you for being a shallow idiot.

None of my friends will bot because the black hand union and the members I get close to are legit all the way. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it! And if you are saying Black Hand is anything but legit GTFO and go to xian and check the union.

Nah, we were as close minded as you are, kicked botters we found, left union because of rampant botting in it. The core members didn't bot.

frankly i agree with mrjoey i come on to the forums to look at stuff and all i see is bot this bot that gold this gold that or where is the yellow bar around your hotkeys i mean god go be a detective or go out for fresh air

I really didn't want to dip my nose down in this, but I feel I need to.

This thread isn't about our feelings towards botters or the people behind them. This thread is about accusations of botting running rampant on this forum; so rampant in fact that it has degraded the atmosphere. I have been a long-time lurker, short-time poster here, but I've noticed accusations, flaming, and disrespect all rise in recent time. In my honest opinion, if accusations were held to a minimum there would be more respect and less flaming making a more gamer-friendly enviornment.

Sure botters are a pain in the ass but the bitching at least for me only stays in game and if my best friend botted, I wouldn't give two shits, sure I would be pissed that he would cheat but it wouldn't affect our real life in anyway. You sound like you would probably shoot any botter you met irl.

Stallowned, nicely put. No use for this. Someone should keep "tabs" for spammers and useless threads like this

and people should not respond if they feel that the thread is useless.

anyway i think the idea is good, but it will take some hard work and
there is a chance suicidegrl and the other admins will be flooded with
spam pm's by people that want to tell them the spams; what if 15 ppl
want to pm them the same spam threads?

As I said in the first post, I'm keeping personal track of who accuses, and where. I will have each one in a notepad, once a person reaches 5 accusations, I will bring it to the mod's attention. I might even have something else done, but first would have to talk to suicide in pm.

Im not sure why ya'll are still arguing. Stallowned said zip it. The mods and Admins have a tendency to back each other up. Save your zeal for in game.

Well, don't mind me, but my thought is, if there is no more bot drama, then what will the topics be about in this forum? All there is besides the drama is noob questions.

Not really, we can discuss the bot issue without accusation. Most of us can figure out how to communicate without a lot of finger pointing and blame. And yeah, what a good idea! Help out a noob, be a positive in the community instead of a negative. I know, the concept seems to be out of vogue in SRO, but there is no rule saying it should stay that way.

imo ... yeah ... it gets tiring to see all the bot accusations flying all over.

but hey ... no botters no haters. if u could live with bots in the game, i say live with folks here are merely venting their disappointments.

if u could get the botters to stop posting their exploits and their gains/achievements for the haters to complain ... there wont be hate posts. if all bot haters, who are likely to be legits, cant vent and all they see are botters posting their recent successes, can u see that your forum population will gradually skew towards a certain type of players?

i'm for leaving the forum as it is. mods/admins to moderate and delete the entire topic where appropriate.

Last thing we need is this place to become pro botting right? Tbh, these accusations is what keeps the botters on their toes and give them a reminder they're cheating to get their levels, gold, and items. The moment the accusations stop is the moment this place does becomes more pro botting.

IMO, if you really want to blame anyone, blame the creator of the iSROBot and their site bot369, and with 258 selling the botcards (used to). If it couldn't get even more worse, we have 0x33 cracking isrobot and clientless, what does that mean? It means 0x33's softmod has made server traffic sky rocket with their multiclient feature.

The bots are like weed to these people, kill the drug dealer, and all you'll have is a buncha kiddies shivering under the bed mumbling i need my weeeeeeeedddd

I know i'm not totally innocent here, but I do want this game to be bot free eventually, I admit being guilty of not helping the cause, i've lost hope with joymax long ago. I hope you anti botters don't give up at least.

that's why i say staying legit is the toughest option in continuing with sro. it's like opting for the toughest level fighting against AI in RTS or shooter games.

One thing wrong with your post, this is a game, a forum, not court. People need to stop comparing internet stuff with real life stuff. They are NOT the same.

I got an idea. DELETE EVERYONES ACC. make them APPLY for a FORUM ACC...

ppl who are most mature get in, also creates less spam from gold companys.

Someone like YOU might be bothered by a forum accusation, but unfortunately the average botter seems to thrive on opposition. Making a big scene only feeds their troll-like behavior most of the time. Also, innocent ppl could be blamed. What if enough haters decided to start calling Stallowned a botter because he lay down the anti-spam hammer? Rather than play judge and jury, deciding which accusations are flame and which are justified, the staff have decided to say all accusations are taboo.

Too much work for mod's, in theory it would be a good idea, but this forum doesn't have that kind of resources.

And yeah... need I remind people that this is just a game? No need to waste your emotion on how someone chooses to go from point A to point B in a game lol. You play games with the sole purpose of having fun, so if you are the type of person that will be blowing stream if someone bots, then I'm afraid this game isn't for you.

Since when does silence mean consent.... Right to silence is to protect you from self-incrimination. You can't force someone to confess to a crime, and if they choose to remain silence then it's assumed innocence under the law (not taking into account realistic interpretation by the jury). If the president doesn't sign a bill it doesn't become law.... again silence doesn't mean consent.


As for accusations.... I don't think they act as a deterrent. Many of the botters are very very open about their botting, and they don't care if you accuse them.... since they already admitted it. For example Osoka union on Oasis uses the acronym B.O.B.S (Bot on Bot Strong). If you accuse them of botting.... I fail to see how that would be a deterrent.
