Hi,

I was wondering how many of you have your own private forums for your guild.

1hp has created a union forum for the ChampionZ union. Hosted by some free web hosting site and using phpbb with custom themes and icons.

BTW learning to create a forum was a ton of fun. learned to use ftp server software, learned enough about mysql and how to use paint.net for sigs, icons and gif files. As you can guess, total moron when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Love to know what other guilds or unions have done, and maybe they would like to share their forums, or will they remain private?

We have a general section for friends who might visit, but the majority of the forum is only open to the union, only registered union members may view...

Do you people prefer to use your own forum or prefer to use SilkroadForums?

We have a private forum for our guild (PureEntity) and our union. At first we had a guild only forum but someone in the union made a union site for us so we decided to switch over to that. The URL is secret! since it's a union only forum.

Same here, we have a guild forum....lol only members can have the URL
and its in spanish

Problem we have is...

Half the union has registered and been using the forum actively everyday, which is great. These happen to be what I call our "Powerhouse" guilds, the guilds that make the unino's presence felt on the server, ChampionZ, Les_Ripoux, 1hp, The_Covenant.

But the other half, have actually talked in union chat how they don't trust the forum and are afraid of being hacked.

Everytime you try to do something to create a community within the union, always some paranoid player that has create complications. Not really sure why they think we want to hack them when they have unfrarmed, lower lvl and poor gear accounts...

Any of you having problems trying to create some sense of unification within the union? I'm starting to feel its time to weed out the non-participating union members and start searching for one that are interested in showing they are part of a union, not just leeching off the strength of some of the union members.

For some reason the Future update thread ignored me when I posted that in KSRO all guilds get their own sub-website off the main SRO website and their own forum just for their guild and it automatically only lets guild members log in. So hopefully that will come here soon too....not that I care cuz I've got http://www.desolator144.com I can even host large, full quality videos on it that like 300 ppl watch and not run out of bandwidth cuz I got 1 terabyte

good idea.... and it would be posible if a guild master request a pass key / code to get in the link..... ( for private reasons )
