First time I've posted here, so advance apologies if what i say is rubbish. Just been content reading everything for the 2 weeks ive been playing SRO.

But today was ridiculous. This morning, everything was good, even logged in first time, thought things were going to be good today. But no. How wrong I was -_-

at about 10am, a bunch of botters stole a giant. "meh" i thought, seems to happen a lot on this game
10.10 happened again. Got kinda annoyed this time, as I aint sure why people that can nuke 4k on a scorpion giant are even there, can't they go bot elsewhere?
10.15 happened again

figured a moving of area might be wise ^_^
10.30 Red Eye ghost thingy spawned on top of me (out of area according to maps) and being a little L31, i ran away. It critted me though, nearly died.

11am, went for breakfast

came back, had been dc'd while stalling, presumably pretty early on, as nothing had sold, nor offers been made.

I was trying to get back in, but the launcher was running really slow (i maen when the text comes up on it and stuff) anyway, took an hour to get in. Then i dc'd after around 5 minutes.
Logged in 5th or 6th time, and all seemed good, no lag in DW, no lag getting to the scorps again, no lag killing them. Saw a giant, took him down to 60%ish. Then i was hit by a sudden bout of lag, and after around a minute, the lag cleared, and i was dead.

Couldnt log in until 8pm. When i did so, again, it all seemed to be running smoothly and nicely. Yeah. That lasted about 20mins. Lag, dead dog. Tried to return scroll, but there was too much lag, and it lagged part way through returning, and dc'd me at the end.
Logged in at 10pm (15mins ago). All seemed fine, hell i even dropped a ring and an elixir and a crit12 sword. But then i lagged and died -_-
Then i got annoyed and wrote this.

My internet connection is not slow, this is the first time ive been dc'd in the 2 weeks ive played. Does this happen to people a lot? What do you do? What are the signs to look out for?

And there was I, thinking that bots were the only annoying thing on sro

If you have a huge bit of lag and you die by the end of it more than twice in a day, then stop playing because it's just gonna keep happening.

I learnt that the hard way -_-

got this 2... preferably on weekends, dcing within 5 minutes after logging in, laggin like hell in pvp etc.

and yup, my connection is alright. dsl 16000, no lags in stream radio when im gettin dcd.

But seriously now what I did to stop this problem is:
I called up my internet provider, said what the hell dood, I'm a gamer I can't handle this crap!!
So that guy gave me a new IP and it helped so much ^^
Havn't been DC'd since then.

What my cousin did:
He called up the internet provider guy asked "what the hell dood, my porno is at 99% and I have nothing else to do, do you have this porno that I wanna watch??" so they gave him the new IP, but it didn't didn't work so those internet guys came over and found out that their were some loose wires inside the walls got loose or something?? but yeah he hasn't got DC'd in weeks

Never happened to me the last months.

yeah, never been dc'd before. Moved back to parents house over summer, and they have faster internet than i had in uni, but today may have just been an off day i guess. we'll see tomorrow :o

I know how you feel. Because I live nearly on the exact other side of the planet from Joymax's servers, I get tons of lag even tough my internet connection is ok, as do many of the people around here. Can't beat physics I suppose.

But sometimes I get an excelent performance like a delay of only 0.25 segs, and It's just wonderful when it's like that.
