Type username/password, press connect, a packet is sent to the server. If the server is full -> server will reply with a "sorry" message. If it just happens to be that when you pressed connect a spot is available, the server will reply with success and bring up the image verification. It will not connect you until you type in the verification image. Which means that there is an open slot. Hence, the person who types the code the fastest connects first, right?
Wrong! Many people neglect things such as latency. Suppose that 2 people type the code and press verify at the same time, it is the person closest to the server/with lowest latency that will connect. Suppose your connect sucks and you have high choke/packet lose. You are least likely to connect.

i say again, there aren't spots it's server traffic dogg! u must be lucky to confirm the ''code'' when the traffic is low.

read this:
Q:- Is there any plan to add an auction house system to help reduce crowded servers due to stalling players?
A. We've proposed this system and Korea is taking it into consideration. The issue really, is how much traffic does a staller use up? Not very much, actually. So is this problem big enough for us to actually consider developing an auction house? Developing an auction house means that we have to push back some other game features or developments. And stalling can be argued as an integral part of the game. These are some factors that are being considered at the moment from Korea's end, and as soon as we get the results, we will announce them in a notice on the official website.
it's true what i say

Suppose your connect sucks and you have high choke/packet lose. You are least likely to connect. This is mostly right. Before the they check for an open spot, the server checks your username and password. carlton wrote: It will not connect you until you type in the verification image. It actually does perform preliminary action to get you connected. That's why when someone else manages to get the open spot on the server, your connection is servered and you get DC'd.

I like that

Yea SRO needs a new log in system. Like in Tibia. You log in then u enter queue and you can see your spot in the line. So if there is queue of 500 ppl then u have to wait that those 500 get in first and after that u get in for sure.

Why are you even replying to thread this old? SRO has changed its login system so that if you can't get in on the first try, you'll d/c.

Or, people could stop whining and wait till server traffic dies down before they try to log in.
