Yeah it's hard to know what to do in that situation, especially if it's a real-life friend.

I'll never bot even if every single player that exists on every single server is botting, and even if Joymax quadruples the amount of exp you need for each level. I still won't do it.

The euro patch will eradicate all botting from SRO, nay, from the entire gaming genre. It is the gaming messiah come to us to aid us in our time of need.

/sarcasm

Never underestimate a Chinese guy trying to make a buck. Apparently, they can write a program that will turn on your comp, start 12 games utilizing only 1/10 of their normal memory usage, botting in such a manner than your char even stops for pee breaks like a normal person, makes and eats dinner, repairs your car, gets great gas mileage and sleeps with your best friend's girlfriend without him ever finding out... all while turning a 200% return on it's initial investment.

So far, from my experience in Europe, right now with a dual wielding ax warrior, it will be VERY difficult for cheaters to roam free in Europe.

First of all, the high amount of objects on the ground makes it utterly difficult even for a human to move about without bumping into.

Second of all, the delay in pot and the group system.

Although, one said that you cannot do anything solo in Europe, that it not accurate, you can very much solo in Europe if you so desire.

But the fact is, groups will own over individuals and forget about 1 bot against an entire group, the bot stands no chances at all.

Group bots? No such a thing, you'd have to have groups of cheaters getting together and we all know how greedy cheaters are, they don't want to share.

Impossible to run a bot? No, far from impossible, just very very difficult.

Even if such a bot does not already exist (unlikely in my opinion), it would not be hard for someone to make. You are also forgetting that many individuals run multiple bots simultaneously. Even if no one bothered to make a bot capable of grouping with humans, what would stop them from traveling together and working as a team? Nothing.

Ive been playing Granado Espada, a game that has one player controlling three chars at once and there is a bot for that, its already popping up everywhere. They figured out how to make one bot control 5 distinct classes (healer, fighter, wiz etc) in a party type setting within a few days of the game coming out. NOTHING is impossible and a bot is VERY likely.

The game mechanics are way too complex in my opinion for a bot to group up with humans.

But again, nothing is impossible.

All I can tell you for sure is that it is a HELL of a lot harder to run a bot in Europe than it is in China.

But I must stress that, again, it is far from being impossible to run them, will there be more bots than players like it is right now in China? No, for sure, there will be more players than bots.

And any group of individuals will easily get rid of any group of bots, group force cannot be underestimated in Europe.

As i have understood for some comments, those "group bots" would be multiple clients running in the same party. One bot that spams party heal, one bot that spams MP heal, one that spams nukes, and one that tanks... or something like that, which is possible.

But i don't know and to be honest i don't care... as long as i can grind with a party of people i like and have fun, i won't care about bots.

But if they piss us off, we can go in a party PKing of bots frenzy

If this does turn out to be true, then God help the non-euro servers. Hehe. The harder it is to make a bot, the more likely your exceptional programmers will come out of the woodwork to accept the challenge. People who would normally never concern themselves making a SilkRoad bot will jump at the chance to once it is down to the "best of the best". I have seen this many many times, and I have done the same thing myself in other areas. There is no greater inspiration than for someone to tell you "it can't be done".

Once the super-bots start falling into the general public, they will inevidibly start showing up on the other servers... where they will cause a new set of problems not originally seen with their primitive cousins. The bar will be raised!

Muity cilent?

In other mmos i have played the botters had a way to connect all the bot programs together and then attack at the same time so they could lvl on realy hard stuff.

And in the older days of my servers some guys had a trade bot that were all connecte doing 1 star trades 24/7 but they stoped becuse they can make more gindding in talkamaken. There had to be come comuication better the bot programs to pull that off.

But i mean it just seams like if i was a botter i would stay china becuse i dont have to deal with keeping my muity cilent running togther, or my botter friend online. When i could have a kick ass char in China why go the exta step to make a euro?

Only time will tell

I see I can easily presume some of you are actual botter scums.

Doesn't matter if you multi client, bots will get own by a group of humans.

Currently, in China, there is not much we can do against bots because we are 1 versus a gazillion bots, in Europe the cards will be reversed and we will be many humans against some scum bots.

If you're a cheater scum bag who thinks each and every games should be destroyed by using bots, I got news for you, as much as you think your brilliant, they are games out there which are next to impossible to bot.

Europe will be -very- hard for any of you to bot in, mark my words.

Most people here seem to suggest that it will be hard to bot and that it's all about partying and that the legits would out lvl'em when playing with the whole party in mind. Just a reminder, a botter can also decide to hand grind for half of the day in a party with you and then bot solo as he sleeps... And soloing really isn't that bad at all. I got to lvl 40 in ksro ,without much trouble, soloing most of the way since I couldn't find any english speakers to pt with ^^. JM might say there's an xp deduction for soloing, but if you bot 24/7, I bet you'll make up for it vs. a person who plays for 5 hours and has better shit to do afterwards.

And botting as a party... Not hard. If anybody here has played FF12 and seen how the gambit system for that game is set up, you'll see that its rediculously easy. Hell, I managed to bot my FF12 characters off negalmuur for a good 24 hours before I hit a stupid error in my gambit setup.

They'll probably die alot to. Due to the dam pot wait. In csro i've died like 10 times already and I'm only lvl 12, dam clerics need to learn to heal.

+1

The ppl that are new to cleric really should see it as a mini game, where u must heal ppl as fast as you can!

I have died alot because of sucky clerics!

It will be hard for botters at first. Even to grind on green mobs as a euro char will be tuff due to party mobs, and pot delay.
Unless the botters are able to create a bot party with tanker, healer, buffer, resser then no bots for a while (maybe a month hopefully).
That is what I think.

I wouldn't be suprised if such a bot has already been programmed. It really doesn't take that long.

I dont think so, if they really are inplementing a 20-30 second pot delay then there will be no way for the bots to survive as they will just constantly die w/o a healer. But unfortunately if they come up with a way to have botter parties then we are screwed.

But the diff between u and a botter is u can tell if u are getting to little exp form a mobs and move on. Also a player can see that chapion party mob with 2 giant near and run for his life a bot would chage head frist and get owned even if he is 10 lvls higher. (I've done that. The runing head frist thingy not the botting :) but i was a bard....)

bots are only as effective as the bot makers can make them.

chinese characters will always be botted.
euro characters might be botted too.

chinese gold farmers will never go away.
euro wont have a single gold farmer.

atleast the legits have something good to look forward to. no gold farmer would be dumb enough to use euro chars to gold bot. they are unreliable. soooooo, enjoy your goldbot free euro grinding, that is until you reach level 40 and go to hotan. hopefully, with half of the population on euro, the stupid GM's will be able to stop the chinese gold farmers easyer. just dont hold your breath.

Yea chinese bots are o simple for ppl to use cause the have no pot dealay, but if ppl made "Party" bots to work together then it could be worse for euro, but that would be kinda hard.

After reading through this thread I decided to do a little research. The question about bots in euro has already been answered. Look at what I found.

Quote wrote:
BotsMall has been getting some questions about SRO Europe recently. After examing the official website and having a conference with programming team. Here are some reports.
1. Currently we are not sure if SRO official will open a brand new server for SRO or not. If yes, the bot would be somewhat modified to fit the new server and setting, and the process will last approximately 5~7 days be before it can be released for testing.
2. If SRO official would only add some new features (e.g mags, chars or NPCs) without shifting the server, then bot modification would be relatively easier, and will be expected to be finished within 24~48 hours after SRO Europe opens.

Anyway, since SRO Europe is still under development, please be patient and any latest progress about the bot for it will be updated at BotsMall first.

They are already planning for it. :( Bastards.
