LMAO... we all are aware of scammers as im sure. There was this one scammer that wanted to buy my lsl 32+3 sos bow so badly for 5mil, and tons of elixers and other junk. So i decided to see his offer. I then saw that he changed his 5mil to 500k.. and quickly approved. This was funny... and I told him I wasnt dumb, and not gonna fall for that scam. So he said srry it was an accident, so I exchanged him again. This time he tried changing it again, so I just took my bow out, and approved. He then accidently changed it from 500k- to 5mil. and approved . Lol I ended up getting 5mil for nothing. I dont feel bad about it either, because he was so desperate trying to scam me. Lmao he fell for his own dumb stuff. He was so focused on changing the price, he didnt notice I took the bow away.
*NOTE* This doesnt mean im a scammer

I beg to differ.
The fact that you did it to a scammer doesn't mean that you aren't a scammer.
Two wrongs don't make it right.

Actually, sometimes two wrongs DO make a right. In this case, he taught the scammer a valuable lesson. Hopefully the scammer will stop scamming completely because he finds it to risky. That or he'll be more cautious next time.
And sometimes you gotta defend yourself.
Say somebody is coming at you with a knife with the intent to kill, and you're holding a loaded 12 guage... What're you gonna do?

Scamming is a rather nasty thing to do to someone, but its not illegal in any way. GL in your scamming future. lol

I doubt he did it because he wanted the money, or because of greed. He more likely did it either for revenge or for a small laugh.
Just because you turn the tables on one person doesn't make you a scammer. The chances of somebody actually TRYING to scam somebody because they managed to trick somebody trying to scam them is slim.

Use it as a club to smack the knife out of their hand or smack them round the head, youve got the range on them. Maybe fire at the floor just in front of them.

I can truly appreciate the joy you must have felt:)
Noice work!
When I was rich (20m +) I had a kid try and scam me on four STR tablets level 5.. I was selling them for 200k (50k each, seems fair I thought). We pulled up the exchange window and he changed the 200,000 to 20,000 at the last minute. I knew his scam. SO I exchanged him again and showed him 20m gold, and then walked away, saying "you think I really care about that petty change?"
Felt awesome.
Unfortunately at the moment I DO care about that kind of petty change, barely enough money to buy pots to grind

Yea welcome to the world of sro exchange system, where every scammer thinks they are so farkin intelligent...you know its not the scam that annoys me...its them thinking that i could be that stupid.....its getting pretty bad i would say...in the last couple of weeks i've been trying to sell stuff....almost everyone scams me...and i dont get it i never spam anyone cause its just stupid and a time waste...but its getting really really annoying with those noobs thinking they are so farkin smart
I would say you had the right to do so and he deserves it...half that 5 million are most probably from scamming people as stupid as himself lol.

Why do we kill people who kill people to show people that killing people is wrong?

Good for you! Imho, scamming is only really a game of wit. When scamming is involved, the smartest person will win. If someone gets scammed, they were stupid and shouldnt trust everyone just like in rl.

Nice one. Hope he learned his lesson. I would exchange him and give him back his $$, minus 10% (lesson fee, ftw).

Third-party deterrence is just one, but definitely not the only, justification for capital punishment. Perpetrator deterrence and punishment, for example, are much stronger justifications for capital punishment.
You could make the same cute-sounding argument about jailing someone convicted of kidnapping: "why do we confine people who confine other people to show that confining people is wrong?" Just because it sounds witty doesn't mean it carries much intellectual weight.
On topic: I had a guy try and use the +7/share party drop scam on me the other day. I was only logged into the char for some admin stuff and talking to my guild so I went along with it for giggles. I kept this guy on the hook for about 20 minutes while I took care of business.

Oh I realize the reasons for capital punishment. I only posted that quote in response to someone who posted something to the effect of "if someone is coming at you with a knife with intent to kill, and you have a shotgun, what would you do?" It just reminded me of a forward I got one time that had a picture with the "why do we kill people...." quote. It just seemed to fit
On Topic: <edit: yeah I do what non ego man does sometimes too... just waste the scammer's time while taking care of things in town.>
