Before the update trading wasn't fun, one path 2 choices east or west ferry, high lvl theives trying to pop 1 stars who only 1 star because the ferry's are so crowded with theives.
But now, so fun today i made a multi (153k cargo) star run at lvl 24 with a lvl 23 hunter from conts to sam. So fun i was so scared mainly because we couldn't handle any humans that would come our way probally because you know they'd be several lvls higher . Ahh man it took almost 2 hours to go the route, we had so many thieves spawning every 1 and half minutes, then the closier and punishers, like 5 giants around each other so we had to party up and blast a path on the other side of the road, though we got help when i ran into a guy i partied with the other day for the spear of ares quest (he's 10 lvls higher then me now, sadly) He helped us with the chocobo type things while we killed the theives, man we both lvled up our job on that one, we aslo had a lvl 16 freind with us, she managed not to die too many times).
Knowing there could be a theif makes it fun to trade, but before know there was a theif made it stupid, now that there is a chance to survive a multi star run made it so exciting, mad so much money on the run
If all the theives complained before that all the runs were 1 star they had only themselves to blame for camping at jangang ferries and killing people 20 lvls lower then themselves, the new system has brought some actual gameplay back into it, no way would i have made a trade run back before the upgrade like this, since there would be no chance to win and your hunter can transform into a theif at any time, and not like i knew any hi lvls at the time. God that was fun, not knowing what was ahead made it fun, before the update knowing that there was a theif ahead or that if not they could change into on instantly made trading stupid and i never wasted my time on trading.
Ok leaving town i was really nervous we had our lvl 16 freind scout ahead on horse for key points, the town gate, the bridge south and the docks. It was annoying though for a while this guy was following us from a guild that before the update had alot of theives so i was worried he was messenging his buddies to come rob us after seeing 5 theives spawn at once, but i faked him out on the way we were going, and managed to avoid trouble. I almost died on the trip i came within 10 hp of dieing, and since i was the cleric and my hunter was a warrior dualaxes, no chance to go forth if i died, we were fighitng cloisers and a pack of theives at the same time, thank god for Bless that really saved us. Since i can't get on for a week since i'm moving it was a good way to end it for a while, the money i used on the trade i made the day before from selling masks so if I lost it would have been worth the fun and excitment of the trade. But making it there felt so good.

Unfortunately I've yet to test out the new job system to a large extent, simply because of the 7 day penalty after leaving the Hunter League.

Congratulations guys! I'm a thief but it's still cool that you made it.
On the other hand, it reminds me a caravan a couple of weeks ago. I found a multistar trader with a hunter in the ravine and - being thief after all - I killed them and didn't leave behind any goods. This is how the game meant to be played, as far as I know, but they started cursing and went on for hours(!) spaming me with PM's like "asdasfjdls" so I couldn't use any chat (I didn't care, I was talking via TS ). All because I was a moron enough to attack lower levels. As in lower than I was. Well, what the hell did they expect when they decided to carry 3 stars? Less greed would have saved them...

It also makes for fair play. Tell your friend to wear a hunter flag when escorting you. This way he'll get paid if you succeed but he'll also share the risk with you
