there was a virus in isro bot, but a simple MD5 scan can tell you if you have the real version, and ya, it was fixed so fast i doubt many people got it. i guess they have better customer support than Joymax :roll:

No one had flamed anyone until someone came in with the "lock this thread, it makes me uncomfortable". If you guys try not to accuse each other of botting, nothing gets locked. Its not really very hard to do.

well bloom if is allowed you see be 1000 threads about it and sure be some accuse and BS crap on it you know it ..well is better to lock some B** threads you dont think so ?..is enough whit one not need 10000 and you see evry day is 2-4 about it...

Bot accusations are prohibited. Bot discussion is not. Unfortunately bots are a part of this game and prohibiting the mere discussion of them is unproductive. Equally unproductive, however, are the "you're a bot" threads or the "OMG look at all the bots" threads.

This forum has an anti-bot stance and if someone bots and can't handle that, maybe this isn't the right forum for them. There are bot topics that I find valuable or funny. Like when people discover new ways to get bots to murder. That's great. Or when people use AoE dmg to kill bots at their waypoints. Those movies are funny. Or the fact that D2A has all the botters id's and pw's I think is hilarious. Or this thread, alerting the nonbot community that the bot community (or a segment of it) just got owned.

Discussing bots isn't the problem. The problem is mindless bot ranting or specific bot accusing. A thread doesn't need to be locked simply because it contains the word "bot".

this is what i don't understand, though (a lil off-topic). bot discussion almost "always" leads to bot accusations...there is no way around it. you guys want to talk about bots but you show no restraint, that's why threads get locked. This is where i feel for the mods...i can see how frustrating it can be to give what the public want yet at the same time feel like they are the bad guys for shutting down threads...or closing bot threads.

another thing bot threads bring nothing new to the table. people bitch about bots...they say the something over and over...
when they can't get into the server they blame bots... I don't think the # of bots has really changed all that much, ever since the event people actually start coming into the server and making it busy.

We need a community of hackers and programmers just as devoted to destroying bots, bot makers, bot servers, bot users as the people who make them...

The primary difference is bot makers do it for money, with that much money being made they more then readily willing to go the extra mile to not lose it...the difference between this and JMs corporate model is that money goes into the actual makers pockets and not some shareholders while getting stuck with a salary...

This makes things harder to correct...
