Having only played a Euro Wizard so far I am tempted to also play a chinese s/s nuker. I realize Spear Nuker would do more damage so I leave out which of the 2 chinese builds would be fastest, instead leaving it to a generalization.

I prefer those with experience playing both to vote, avoiding the hypothetical. However I can't prevent those who have no clue or just guess based on biased opinion.

Consider any SP farming in to the equation as far as speed goes.

Does wizard die any easier than chinese nuker?

With my wiz I actually level faster than in a party, mainly because I die LESS solo.



Of course. Basically which can reach level X in the shortest time = fastest to level. The total time required. Lets say level 80 so both have a rather long span of time to consider. The wizard would obviously get to 30 before the nuker since most will farm around 16 with chinese, so that would be an unfair consideration.

For me is faster the chinese nuker.

Nothing prevents a chinese nuker from partying. ^^ Or a Euro wizard from soloing.

i would have to say, at this point in the game; wizards since u will not need to farm (that is keeping in mind that u CANNOT have all the skills in the wizard mastery w/o farming or gapping)

If you're using a wizard and you wanna try a nuker then do it. Its gonna be easy for you because you already have alot of experience with INT builds

Nukers are the best by far:
They will be able to survive some hits if you choose a build called a Pure INT Hybrid.
It will mean that you give STR 1 and INT 2.
Meaning that you wont die as much as the pure int wizard as they do need full pure INT.

Pure Int Hybrid? You cant be Pure and hybrid at the same time

chinese nuker 2 hits mobs
euro nuker 1 hits mobs

with equal gear and wep...

with a euro wizzard u can kill anything 3 lvls above in 1 hit with npc wep

and in chineese u cant

and in chineese u get the nukes at lvl 30, so form 1 to 30 is harder to lvl

With Life Control it's even crazier. Even after 30 soloing mass numbers of mobs in 2 nukes is very easy, thus I am hooked on the super fast level rate of Euro Nuker. I can't play any other Euro character, just to slow after Wizard. I solo mainly, partying other Euro professions would probably keep a close pace but....I doubt it.

To me the entire reason to party in Euro is to take advantage of the insane amount of damage the Wizard can do, thus balancing out the party. A taunting tank (most do NOT taunt effectively), a Healer, and a Wizard are the cornerstone to the perfect euro party. Without an S/S Euro Tank taunting the Wizard is better served soloing.

From 1-16 is pretty quick for chinese, then you farm quite a while, then progress with zero gap. You don't have to do the insane 2 month farm, you can just farm a large amount and zero gap to 30, get first nuke and later farm some more.

With Euro Nuker I took bard secondary for march and noise. Thus I left it at 20 on the bard side. I used a slinky gap method, letting a gap build until I absolutely needed/wanted the next set of skills. As Vandall pointed out most Wizards do not want all the skills so you don't need much gapping at all even with a secondary profession (in my case, the way I did my Wizard, I haven't). You will level extremely fast.

I don't expect to level as fast with Chinese Nuker, especially since I will have to SP farm. I just want a chinese character that levels as fast as possible so I can move through the game and enjoy playing (aside from SP farming).

yeah, if you have a nice group to party with, probably the wizard will level up faster than the chinese sword and shield.

but the s/s, you can go solo at any time, not worrying about if you have a group next to you, it's only your sword, your shield, and your pots.

I guess it depends on HOW you level. lol You can get a Euro char to 30 in one day with a determined powerleveler.

You cant do that to a Chin one in a week.

Don't need a party for wizard, trust me. The party desperately needs the wizard - for fast levelling. I level faster without a party, when I play my wizard. Now in a fully mixed and experienced group that includes 3 or 4 wizards it might be faster than solo. But then again, as I pointed out earlier, what stops a Chinese Nuker from being in the same party?

The Pots thing is pretty huge. The one thing that causes a wizard death faster than lag is pot delay. Pots don't kill things though, so as of yet I am unsure if that alone would swing the balance of which build levels faster. In time I will find out if Nuker is much slower.

About the point raised on being power levelled, how does power levelling a Wizard ensure faster levelling than power levelling a Chinese Nuker? I don't see where there would be any advantage of one over the other.
