Most people that are technical enough to get this configured and running properly have at least 2 PCs in use already...

@Renton - got two desktops running, ftw! My laptop is cruddy & won't run it w/o hiccups. :(

Anyway, have fun with the setup :)
And thx for sharing

A mid-ranged machine should be able to run this if both characters are only stalling. I dont know about other cases though.

CSS and BF2 at the same time. Why? Just because it doesn't lag? >_>

so you can get banned for this.

You can have 5 comps from the same IP or something (I remember reading). Or was that for creating accounts. Well, I would suspect it'd be unlimited since colleges...assuming 20 people play...that's 20 people from the same IP.

I think my school put a cap on my uploads to korea (i.e. silkroad). I always lag out unless I'm downloading something, then my connection is normal/stable...so much porn now. >.>. jk. Or am I...

ok, so i tried this with Microsoft Virtual PC and VMware, and keep getting the same error, its says something along the lines of limitations of my video rendering device. I know this is suppose to be solved by the code you add to the .vmx file, but it doesnt seem to work. does anyone know another way to add 3D accelerated graphics to a virtual pc and boost vgram to 64mb like the guide says to do?

also, to solve one person's problem above where you were having conflicting ip problems, thats b/c u didnt have bridge network connection enabled

so for anyones information, i did get this to work, you have to add the codes into the vmx file like the guide says, but you also have to get the VMware tools kit so that ur virtual pc will have a graphics driver....the problem was that SRO uses a ton of resources, so the virtual pc couldnt handle it (the emulated graphics card) no matter how much vgram i threw at it, limited by my comps specs tho, so if you have a VERY high end comp, this might work poorly for you, good for stall characters maybe...neway, goodluck to anyone who tries

You wont get banned for running two clients on the same computer (if you could), even if its the same ip. Networks do it all the time geez. Why would anyone consider to run two or more clients anyway? The server traffic is already terrible as it is.

Using the stall char argument is silly too. Its not like you could play 24/7. The times when you have to sleep you set up your char to stall.

And you cant play two chars in pvp simultaneously either. I've tried that on two computers and its hard :P

what does server traffic have nething to do wit running multiple clients? what's so silly about stall char? while u'r grinding ur main, stall wit ur noob accnt. grind time + sleep time > sleep time alone.

i'd love to be able to open 2 clients. it would make plvling much ezier.

Each charachter thats log in a server takes up a space in the server. Theres a limit on the number of connections in any server.

I have no doubt that having a stall char stalling 24/7 would be useful. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I rather have that one spot opened to a player who would be able to log in and play in the same server I'm playing.

lol, i had the same problem, ur computer simpky cant handle it, or perhaps the limitations on making the virtual pc is what causes the "graphics driver" to stop working...i couldnt find a way past this

If that's the case, then I'm in big trouble cuz I've connected 3 computers to the server all at once... and to JoyMax, they all came from the same IP!
