there are a few things I don't get:

why people ks - it's not gonna make ya any friends, let's just put it that way. especially when the person who's kill you steal is actually running a quest, and you're 10 lvls higher than the targets, I just don't see the point. go farm somewhere that gives you some significant gain. of course, I will say my little piggie just loves it when you kill everything in sight and leave all your gold and alchemy drops around for him to grab :D

why people get pissed that other people buy silk - I bought silk just to get a crow. sue me. oh yea, and my ability pet. again, sue me. I'm not rich. far from it. but compared to what I've heard of other people paying for games, 5 bucks a month is hardly a big deal. look at it this way: I may have purchased silk, and actually used it for something other than cursing people with globals, but I haven't botted, bought gold online, had anybody powerlevel me, scammed anyone, begged for gold (and I have managed to build a tidy little sum, if I do say so myself) or any of the other lame things folks do rather than just play the game to earn their own xp/sp. all hand built and home grown here, thank you very much.

why people can't let other people pvp - I can't tell ya the amount of times I've been attacked by a lower lvl char, killed them, then had other higher level players come and kill me multiple times (and we all know that if you die in the game, you die for realz  ) as if I did something wrong by "defending" myself. or just try having a 1v1 match outside dw without some higher level player coming along and killing you both, at least when there's a crowd of people there.

why people think that sro pvp is about skill - it's about lvl, skill sets, and gear. he who has the better gear, and the more properly allocated skills will always win in a true 1v1 match. the only skill involved is in how you build and outfit your character, not any inherent skill you have cause you were born l33t lol. nothing to brag about really. it's a video game. get over it. you haven't really accomplished anything in rl by being uberstacked in a video game (me included). it's a hobby, not a profession.

why people complain about turks specifically - as far as I can tell, any player that is affiliated with a guild is liable to steal a kill, rape you in pvp due to higher level, try to pull a scam on you, etc. not saying all guild members on all servers act like that, but it's pretty common in my experience on zeus. if you actually say something to them about it (in the case of kill steals while you're trying to grind a quest), then you're whining. if you don't say anything, they accuse you of botting (because you tried to remain silent and just keep working).

why people claim I'm a bot - I wouldn't even know how to work a bot. I don't even use macros to spit text in the form of city spam. matter of fact, this is my first mmorpg (always played multiplayer games at lan parties prior to that). I've only played one other online game prior to this, and that game didn't allow the use of macros or other cheat techniques that are apparently common with mmorpsg. I actually had a player (I'll leave his name out) tell me he thought I was a bot cause I was grinding black robber bowmen behind an obstacle. I was behind an obstacle cause they kept spawning for me repeatedly, and no one would come behind it to ks my kills because it was inconvenient for them to get back there.

why everyone is a noob to other players - I can't tell ya the amount of times I've been called a noob on zeus. even though I've been playing this game for 9 months, have managed to build a lvl 40 character with skills fully farmed to lvl 33 force books and 36 weapon books, and have deleted more characters than most people can imagine before I decided to go my current route, I'm still regularly called a noob when I make the simple mistake of dying to a lvl 50 character in pvp in which I was attacked by a fully buffed player while all I'm running is grasswalk :?

at least with regard to zeus, in my experience, I find that I love this game, but hate dealing with the server community.

my conclusions - guess I'm never joining a guild (unless I can find one that's not full of, how shall I say it, asses), never gonna pvp again until I hit at least lvl 72 (cause what's the point, really), and never gonna try to help a lower level player out again (they just wind up finding some 'tard to plevel them past me, and forget I ever did them a favor in the first place, and then come along and ks my kills while I'm trying to grind).

ok, now turning venting protocol off :P

feel free to flame me if ya like. I'm just speaking of my experiences on zeus. maybe I should just find another server, but after finally making the 4x lvls, I hate to dump it all and start over :( and I ain't gonna quit playing cause of some asshats. to all who feel that I have unfairly lumped you in with the rest, my apologies. I know you aren't all the types of players I've described above, I just haven't met you yet lol.

server inspection times... the ultimate time to bitch in the forums :)

bye.

true.. bitchtime! :p
but the reason people pick on turks is because more of them break rules and are found for it.
they may not do it most but there bad at it. and get caught.
im glad ive never tried.
but this is getting a bit prejudiced...turks are turning into SRO scapegoats.
but i also dont know how come theres o many of them.

lotta truths in your post. Most people who ks are botters who have to set it that way for 8 man party mobs. As for the rest of your post, keep in mind the average age of a sro player is 12, if not lower. :)

*edit* The sro community farking blows, no offense to anyone here, but we all know its true. (If your server is anything like Oasis, and from what Ive read here it is). My advice is find a cool guild with people you like who are in a cool union with people you like. Screw strength of guild/union, just find people you like to chill with and have fun, cuz thats what video games are supposed to be about. :)

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm tired of working a giant down to almost half health to have a 69+ player come in and 1 shot it for what?? 4 xp? gg cool guy

The amount of attitude in this game has gotten way out of control because people know the GM's don't do anything. It still amazes me how bad the support and service in this game is, and it amazes me more that I'm still playing it.

I think about it all the time, but I have met a hand-full of really great people here. Also, I've been playing this game since beta and the assholes haven't always been here, or if they were they were much more quit about it. People start to mimic the jackasses that spam globals about fuckin the GM's moms while they're on the server. It's getting worse and worse and Joymax obviously has no intention of fixing it.

Maybe if you'd been around since the 60 cap you'd know this.

Answer to most of your questions is the simple reason that most people are or act like immature 6 year kids. It is nice when you do finally run into someone leave-headed enough to have an intelligent conversation.

And yes, sro is a game about time and money(rl and in game). Because like you said it is a game about level, gear and skills the word skill hardly applys to the game. Sure phantom here and there the odd iron nothing more nothing less.

you're entitled to your opinion, but I'll say this, and then I'm FINALLY going to bed. since the "euro update/major bot kick" a little while back, I have not had a single player who labeled themselves a turk (tr, turk included in name) ks me... not once. in fact, I usually expect them to, and they pull off the target if I got in the first hits. of course, now that I've said that, tomorrow I'll be endlessly ks'd by turks rofl. face it. it's not just turks that folks like yourself have a problem with. it's anyone from the middle east. I see the same verbal abuse being lumped onto folks from kuwait, egypt, etc. whether they've done anything to deserve it or not. maybe bush's rhetoric is actually working on some folks after all. in the end, anyone can be an asshat, no matter their point of origin.

nuff said, night all, good luck out there, until all the silk road is covered in sosun items :P

Its the 1% of turks that I know (and are friends with) are worth fighting for.

Not long ago I quit this game when I was playing on Pacific. Gave my sosuns away and went on a player killing spree on my lvl 80 char.

One turk brought me back to the game and now we're owning Hercules. I could never thank her enough though . I'm still enjoying this game for what it is, even though the community (ingame) can be sometimes less desired.

If you were around at the 60 cap you'd know what I was talking about. You obviously don't so you either weren't, you're oblivious, or an idiot, possibly all of thee above. And telling people to quit the game cause there are aspects of it that they don't like is moronic.

I'll take an E. And I think it was Mrs White in the Hall with the Wrench.

Spot on.
A lot of (or most?) players behave like jerks simply because they can. They must be getting some satisfaction in the simple fact of being a pain in someone else's butt, and being able to get away with it, at least for now.
That's a fairly common issue with Korean grind-fests IMO. It seems the developers simply change the text (I don't really dare using "translate" hehe) and shove the code on separate servers. They completely forget that the rule set they apply on a local market might not fit an international audience, where people with different cultural backgrounds interact with each other.

If i ks you, then i'm trying to make you mad, or i appologize because it wasn't intentional, but i only ks from people who like ks a freind or me, then i do it alot better then they did.
My guild, i'm carefull about who i let join, we're all half way repsecting people, we won't scam you or what not (most of us are too lazy to try and scam anyways)
PVP is basicly crap, but as for the lower lvls attacking you, i'll do that, i want to try to take out the higher lvl person, 15 lvls is my record kill, wizzard/ beserk and i feared them, they were chinese bowman with garments, 10 -20 lvls is with in the realm of a possibley victory, but not when they are a whole 40 lvls higher then every one else ther pvping, i mean they just wait for you to stand back up and 1 shot you again,

People call every one noobs in this game, because they think that they're more hardcore with their higher lvl charector, I have a picture i need to post from playing swbf, a game that takes actuall skill, from a night i was popping head shots left and right 104 kills and only 20 some deaths, no ai, all people, from a clan of not half bad players, for some reason i just kepted hitting that night, Now in a game like that you can call some one a noob, via low skill (still kinda low to do), stupid behavior (thats the call of noob is, is by very low IQ behavior), but not lower lvls, its an rpg you play longer you get higher lvl and more powerful, not always smarter,

as for turks, i've actually met a few nice turks, over shadowed by the dozens that only know how to say F you, and insist on saying it, but there are a few good ones, and just because they can't speak english doesn't mean that there aren't more good ones, even if i'll never be able to communicate with them,

just like other nationalites, they just like to show themselves as turks more so then other nations, like NUKER TR, TR_TURK_TR, its hard not to remember the turk there, but you won't be remembering the name attacted all you remember is turk, and how they ksed you, or murdered you for no reason, leaving the imprint of turk = bad

oh word to that, I don't mind being attacked by anyone, or being killed by anyone, I just hate when I become the target of like 6 higher level chars cause I responded to a lower level attack :P but what the hell. guess it goes with putting on the cape.

I really don't bitch about pvp in game unless I repeatedly get my 1v1 with another player of equal level disrupted by some lvl 50+ jerk. it's just not cricket, ya know? but again, what the hell, my cape was on, I should have expected it, cause like you all have said, maturity is not something I should have anticipated. it's certainly not unusual to be standing there waiting for someone of my lvl to come along, and having a level 72 come along and one hit my arse :D ya gotta get your clips for youtube somehow, right? but after you've done it a few times, move along, ya know? I'm not gonna unmount my cape just cause you've been playing that character longer than I've been playing mine, that's for sure. it helps a lot that I have nothing to prove, I guess.

Good read...hope that made you feel better! Lots of facts about this game, its players and the sro community (or lack thereof) in general.

Answer to most of your questions - players w/ bad attitudes/sportsmanship. Sore losers. People that are out to make everyone else miserable in this game. They should put them all on one server and let them all be miserable & fight/flame/KS/PK/scam/hack/global war each other. Just name the server 'e-DRAMA' and be done with it.

Only thing we can do is run our own race and not let them drag our gaming experiences down to their level. Stay positive; hopefully you'll run across a cool group of folks to hang out with and things will get a little better, at least on a smaller scale for you. That's the way positive change has to take place - one member, one guild, one union at a time.

Feel free to come back and vent any time you like, it's good therapy, lol. :)

If KS'ing annoys you very much, then quit, just quit, It's part of the game, why do you think it was implanted.

People dont get pissed because other people buy silk, its either you or peeps just jealous.

Happens all the time, just go to somewhere quiet where no one will bother you
Pvp uses strategy, and strategy comes from skill, so your wrong there
