Hi guys, I've played many MMORPG's, like WoW, LOTRO and DAOC etc, and I must say I'm having difficulty moving.....

Okay I can move around, I'm L10 and obviously getting more used to it, but it doesen't feel comftable, WoW and LOTRO use of holding both right mouse button and left to run and move the way you move the mouse is great, if you let go of the left button you get a free look.

Now I'm wondering what camera angle you use, If I use the camera free rotation I find I'm never looking in the right place, yet if I use Camera behind the chap I can't see other mobs close without turning using the arrow keys...

That the next question, how do you move, with arrow keys and your right hand on the mouse, or point and click with left hand on buttons 1-9?

Finnally any mods etc to change how I move, even WASD would feel better for me...

Thanks in advance.

i've always played mmorpg's with the point-click method, so i was already used to it when i started sro. you just have to get used to clicking where u want to go and right clicking to turn the camera. after a few days, it'll become second nature to u.

at first i didn't like it either, being a shooter gamer msyelf, but its pretty easy to get around, except when it lags, i turn my camera alot to see whats around me, but i keep it zoomed out so i can see more

Free cam, point and click for me :)

Started out with behind the char cam, with keyboard arrows to move around. Did that for a few weeks until I got myself a mouse with a wheel xD.

Mouse click/point + free cam.

If u fail to see mobs with it, just use the mini map more. Its handy.

Thanks guys

Doppleganger thanks for the offer, I work lots thur-sun night so play odd hours, but if I'm still stuck by Monday I'll come hassle you :p

I really need an online manual, I'm pretty useless without idiot guides, and although I have spent more time searching through forums than playing I'm still unsure about a lot

Firstly, can I map movement to WASD, if so how?

Is there an auto attack nearest monster, so i see one and hit say spacebar and it auto selects nearest and i can attack it (would be easier with this movent m'larky)

COS, see it written alot, no idea what it is.

PK'ers, I get the idea, maybe even like the reality it brings along with it, but can they kill you and take all your stuff you have inc Gold, I hope not, or I'm sure everyone would be a PK'er, and it's after level 20 I have to worry right? :p

Alchemy (the cartoon on the webby didnt really help) is it as simple as, get a Lucky elixir, get a weapon elixir, get a weapon, combine all 3 and it's +1, repeat and it's +2, if it fails it goes back to +0?

Farming at 16 (Read lots from the forums), Do i really need to spend 2 weeks farming, dieing, farming to get tons of SP's? or can i keep the Masteries say 4 levels below me all the way to 80 and get the same amount of points?

Is there a permanent Horse/mount to ride, I though WOW these horses are cheap in SRO, until I got of it ^^

Can I ignore the players that use yellow and spam everyone is a cheat or wan**r or some stupid stuff for hours, if so, how?

I expanded my bags once through a quest, but omg I need more, is it possible, or is it higher level quests (Im L10)

And sooo many more noobish questions, like do you sell your used items on a stall or are they bound to you? (guess I can try this 1 out heh)

I made this for SRA, but I think it's pretty complete. If I missed anything, let me know.

Just try it out yourself. Its not a big problem. I can see you' have difficulty transitioning, but just try it out for a while. By lvl 10, you should have perfect knowledge of the game. And personally, games like SRO can be a waste of time. Just pick an MMPORG and play it. :D

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm gonna use free movement and point and click, every day it's getting a little easier.

I used a key mapping prog that lets me change keys around, so I changed WASD to the arrow keys, so pushing W moved me forward, but to then write anything with a wasd in the word I had to use the arrow keys or restart the PC 1st :)

@southkorea321 I know ur post wasn't a dig, but just to correct your assumption, I played DAOC for over 2yrs before Joining WoW, I'm coming up to my 3rd year in WoW, I join all Beta's for incoming MMORPG's It's good to know whats out there and other game's designs, Luckily I got the reg key for LOTRO, played it for a few days, didn't join it, waiting for key to Warhammer to. After playing WoW for so long I think about other games, a few WoW friends play SRO been chatting to me and here I am, still playing WoW too.

Blood.
