Not free.

It gives bonuses to guardians (Small extra exp, honor) and apprentices (Large extra exp) and helps the new players to be introduced on Silkroad.

Although most people use it for one single reason: Powerlvling.

A guardian gets honor for every apprentice graduating. Every apprentice gains an exp. buff and 2m xp when graduating(half a lvl at lvl 40).
A guardian can buy the SoH weapons(Seal of Honor, blue SoS glow) when he has accumulated enough honor.

u will probably have better luck find a sos or sosun than getting one from the honor system. i heard you get 11 honor points from a graduaute who was in ur academy from lvl 1-40. it takes 2500 honor points to get a sun 8D weapon, do the math, thats a lot of graduates

well after playing two years i got my first sox a few weeks ago so i think the graduate system will work better for me

Each graduate gives 39 honor points so you need promote 65 players. I have my academy but actually I already give up to get my honor sun, but I continue with the school because of the honor buff.

My guardian was p leveling me and he gained through my cumulated buff over 20k honor points.

Honor points only come from graduating recruits. The buff you had is just an exp booster thing. Whenever you turn it in you get 80% of the points while the guardian gets 20% of the point so all you did was give him a decently sized exp booster while you got a nice size exp booster yourself.

That's if everyone joins at level 1. Higher level they are at when they join less honor you get when they graduate. Regardless it's still a high number of recruits to get one of those honor weps.
