omg, this is very wierd. my pc never lags on internet or pc even with the graphics are on high. and randomly sro just freezes. i can still hear the noises from atacking and horses and everything, but IT IS FROZEN. i tried to put cpu usage to low and closed all programs. anyone have any ideas? please!

I had the same problem and I fixed it simply by using 800x600 windowed mode, now I never freeze or even ??? error anymore.

good for you, but my moniter is way too big for that.

You think thats bad, when ever i close the game i randomly have my screen freeze and turn black, and the only way to fix it is to hard reset the pc. God dam annoying.

I only get something like that in the euro area? Maybe try moving to another grinding spot?

mines done that sense the update but i can still ctrl-alt-del and end process sro_client.exe not the program itself that'll close, and it does that every time i have forcibly end the process

today made me mad, first i get killed by a pack of party closiers because i was stuck, then i go back and my bird dies because of lag, i mean i started to try to heal it at like 80% health, and the game was stuck for so long of my right clicking the recovery kits the whole time, i end up with the message can't use without a transoport and my bird was already dead, it lost like 10% from dieing, and i have like no money. normaly my disconnects and lags are my own internet's fault and can't blame joymax for that but


note just how many disccnnect happened, 2 minutes later i disconnect myself, but not before i got to sort of watch my bird die, more like 1 frame 80% health next frame dead

Good to see I'm not the only one experiencing this. I thought it was just me and simply because of the way I'm using SRO.

I don't run Windows, I use Linux instead, and run SRO through wine (http://www.winehq.com). So I thought it was because of either linux or wine incompatibilities. So if you windows guys 'n' gals are getting this too, then it's not just my setup.

I know when my game freezes, it's just the screen itself. I can be sitting in town stalling, then all of a sudden the screen will just stop. I can go on my wife's computer and take her character into my stall and everything. Or if I'm out fighting, it will freeze in the same way, but I can hear I'm still being attacked.

Only way to stop it is to drop to a konsole and kill the process at the commandline. Usually by the time I do that, I'm dead, and my wolf too

If it's happening with so many of us with so many different setups, it must be something on Joymax's end.

Just hit the windows key that is inbtween ctrl and alt then right click on SRO_Client and the click close and then click end now. But this only works if ur using a PC

Well that depends on what operating system you are running on that PC. So really it only works if you are running Windows XP (I don't think 2000 or 98 use the Windows Key). Possibly some Linux distros might use it.

Ctrl+alt+delete, right click sro_client.exe > Set Priority > High/Realtime

I've got a PC that's doing some of all of the above...screen freeze/black screen is annoying. Got a couple of BSOD's as well, all pointing to display driver crashes. Have the latest nVidia drivers and it still keeps happening.

i just bought a new pc, a very good one and put some women's splash on it... now it smells good

no lag for me anymore.

Doesn't work for me. The only way to end it is a hard reset.

I'm just happy it never happens to me on Winows or Linux, though these are relatively new installations.

BTW for some reason in Linux the Windows key isn't referred to as the "windows key" but as "super." So like super + d minimizes all windows in windows.
