lvl 30.?
Who are your gonna kill? lol.
IMO dont start jobbing till 52. Many people start jobbing at 52. People sp farm at penons, get bored and decide to go thieving. So, 52 will be the bare minimum IMO.

i agree pretty much with the concensus. start around 52 or higher. gonna be hard for you to kill anything at lvl 30. haha

I'd say start at 42+, not just 40
But yeah, higher level the better.
With new job update, it's absolutely useless to job at less than level 40. But why do it at 40, when 42 is right around the corner?

here's how you should think about jobbing depending on lvl
trader
-lvl 20+
hunter
-lvl 7x (even then you'll still get pawned most the time)
thief
-lvl 7x (even then you'll still get pawned most the time)

Hit and run ftw,
imagine outside dw east gate's safezone 5 thieves standing thinking they all cool, u sneak up on one of them, drop him, disappear again, while the others still stands there haven't noticed they are only 4 left yet.

you dont have to be high level to start... but it depends on the people/friends you know.
If you were on xian and you find me a 5* trade to rob... i would put you in the party and share the exp... you know how much exp a lvl1 thief would get from a 1.2m 5*?..... alot.
In the old jobbing system i was almost lvl4 thief before the update... i started when i was just lvl 58.... and back then 120k loots was alot.

its like you ppl don't even consider the fact that there are traders his lvl around. Start jobbing at 20 and go from there. These ppl seem to think if you don't wait till later you'll probably die but the chance of dieing is always their. On olympus i was a 3* thief before i was lvl52 so don't let your lvl hold you back from having the only fun this game has to offer, otherwise it'll just become another tedious job.

also it depends on your server, most of the older ones basicly 40, but on say mercury or mars you can still 32 and up and contend just fine, less then that you still better hope you don't have to fend off any humans, though there seams to be alot of people trying to job in the 20's here on mercury, and very few high lvls right now, so mid lvled is about average, and its pretty fun, you can even job in the 20's and still progress fine job wise, its about how much money you make now how many people you can kill, if you are smart and lucky you can avoid people.

With my wiz I started thiefing at lvl 24 and in the first week I got at the 35th place of the server and I got to 20% thief lvl 2.
Just choose the right tactic.

Jobbing at low level is easy if you are smart about it.
Obviously you can't actually take on a 64+ theif, so just avoid theives.
Take the lesser known routes, use the trade ouposts, avoid ferries etc.
Kill npc thieves so your trader can take a multi star that is your job, not killing player thieves.
I am lvl 63 trader. I usually trade with my gf who is 57 and another friend who is 56. If one of us sees a player thief we just split up, and try to call in some capped hunters from the union. If 1 or 2 of us gets popped the others usually make it. Hopefully the hunter shows up in time, and we get are goods back.
I had the honor of playing a 73 glaiver in garms with very decent gear. Guess what he still gets 2 shotted by a lvl 80 nuker.
So yeah if you want to pvp real theives wait till your lvl 72+.
