+1

I don't see how it has anything to do with the original Silk Road.

Hotan is far off in China or something and Taj Mahal is in the heart of India.

Constantinople was part of the East Roman Empire, then when the West Roman Empire got sacked, they became the Byzantine Empire. Then they went poof and here comes Instanbul.

Hotan's real life architecture reminds us more of Karakoram than the original Hotan. Maybe it's populace fled from Karakoram after Isyutaru froze the mountain range, and they rebuilt?

Also, even if Hotan is on modern day China, that is a huge country. You don't find only chinese there. The more inland you go, the more different people you will find. You can find curds, mongolians, tibetans, etc. And not all of them had the same religion as chinese. Curds for example are islamic. If you see a picture with Hotan's populace, you will find out that none of them look like chinese.

Joymax added the Hotan Palace to add grandeousity to the route. We're not supposed to feel all the hardships from the Silkroad, we're supposed to be awed by it, it must be an attractive place. You never see any slums in the game. It's because those aren't attractive. The game needs an attractive setting so it gets even more players, and we must admit it, Joymax made a great choice.

Now only if they managed their game as they should.

The names are different in game but they are pronounced the same. Dunhuang is dowhang, chang' an is jangan, and so on...

:P

i know but look where samarkand is on the sro map and on the world map. lol

Constantinople was istanbul but the roman emperor Constantine made Instanbul the capitol of the roman empire instead of Rome. Constantinople means city of Constantine. in 476 Rome fell and in 1452 Constantinople was captured by the turks.

One thing i don't get is why did they put Istanbul(Constantinople) for Europeans, and gave them the cross symbol when Turks were Muslim and still are Muslim (I heard from a Turkish m8 most of them hate Christians too). Should have made Euro starting city Venice or something (or the Croatian island of Korčula where Marko Polo was born :P)...

back in the day Cons was european...

if my memory serves me right, christianity and roman catholicsm was made there. i think i read it in a Robert Langdon book.
