Running sro

my game always suddenly cuts off wen i return scroll, this is because reloads the game and laods all graphics agen, and if ur ram isnt big enough for sro to run on then it closes, but i have 1gb with 700mb free space, this isnt enough to even run sro WT.F?!

sounds like you have a bad stick of ram... have you tried replacing the ram?

what u mean bad stick of ram lol? dno it came with the computer, its a entertainment PC, the guy sed its built for games with the 1gb ram it has and a dual core processor 3.4ghz, but obviously not for extremely laggy games like sro, wer they have fcked everything up.

Does it cutout if you are teleporting from 1 town to the other?
Have you tried scrolling to different towns?
Is this a new comp?
is it a new problem?
did you install any new programs?
Change your graphics settings?
Update your graphics card drivers?

Do you play other games? Do they have instability issues?

It does that based on video RAM. If the video card can't maintain the constant draw, then it just cuts.

Mine still does this sometimes, i have 2 gigs and a 512mb GPU so its not that. try again ladies

i dno what my card is, but its just the one that came with it, it seems work fine with all games, everything runs smoothly but sro.

I'm having similar problems. It's not just when I teleport. I can be out grinding, stalling in town, just running around the land looking for traders... anything. The game will just randomly freeze on me and I'm forced to ctrl-alt-delete and end process on sro_client.exe.

Usually when it freezes, things are still happening to my character. Sometimes I can still hear sounds, but usually not. My character is still being attacked if I'm grinding, or it's still running around on the server end (when I log back in, I'm dead or I'm 3423423 feet away from where I froze.) It's just that my graphics and keyboard/mouse input freeze.

i Get the Same issue as Promethus
Its Not My Ram ive had this for ages and had 3 different sticks of ram in there

To add to that, I don't think it's an issue with how Windows is set up, or what software is installed either. I think it's got to be an issue with SRO itself. I've had similar issues with SRO running under Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home, PCLinuxOS, and Ubuntu.

One time it happened, I was running xfire, and xfire gave me some kind of error message in HTML format, with a stack and register dump. I don't think I have that message anymore, but if I get it again, I can post it here. Not sure if it'd help anything though.

meh i get the same Xfire Error msg with all my errors they seem to be the same also in a HTML Format

Ill Record the next one i get as well
but tbh ive ran SRO under 2 OS 2000 And XP
i dunno if will do it under 98 since it isnt a NT Based OS but meh
i just think SRO Is Poorly Programmed

I've got same problems. But not that oftens. Since i beggun sro i've got in like 4-10 times. The screen just frezze, whole screen get frezed and i get forced to exit the sro_exe proc.

try going to add/remove programs and uninstall your graphics drivers, then reinstall them with the newest full drivers. also, check in your device manager if there are any yellow ?marks

Makes sense that it could be graphics drivers, but I've had this same issue on other operating systems, even Linux. So I don't think it's a corrupt video driver issue.
