I've heard the song before, and I don't get what's to like about it. It's slow, quiet, the lyrics are pretty par.
Where's the selling point?
I mean, if you like it, ok, but please tell me why.

i just love the guitar and the flute in the background. I really dont have a well written reason why I like the song but it relaxes me, cools me off basically-hard to explain really-im writing some bs. But I've listened to hit 400+ times and it never gets old

(havnt listened to the song much, but its a general idea). i think that this next generation (from k-5) will basically go down the drain, thats basically my thought on new music ...

you can still find some good stuff out there (gorillaz have some pretty good lyrics and hip-hop)
older bands will always sound better than these new ones +1, people say mozart is for nerds but mozart music has been around for 400 years. Tupac prolly won't last 5 years
Fixed

well practically tupac didn't last 2 years ... he was killed
and technically hes still going 10+ years(well at least his music)
i think tupac actually got the best deal
u can't blame him if you don't like his songs because hes not the one realeasing them
and if u do like his songs he is the only one to thank because he wrote the lyrics

When I heard those songs I got this intense urge to put my fist through someone's face.
A face like "Lil' Momma's."

meh some people might listen to backstreet boys +50 years from now, but even if some do, it will never be on a large scale as mozart or chopin. They will play mozart on the radio..no backstreet boys or tupac

Real Music is in the past.
Nowadays, most of the artists have lack imagination, and they only focus on sell their CDs but cr@ppy songs :/ Seriously, I don't know if future departs a good way to the music. Is music dying?

Tupac probably will, his songs actually do convey messages.
Have you not heard "Changes" or "Ghetto Gospel"?

Oasis old? Nu-uh.
They are still making music lol. That's like saying Boyzone is old >.>
And yes late 70's - late 80's was the best from of music ever. 90's had some really gd artists but got shadowed by freeloaders.
Anywho Sex pistols / The Damned / Toy Dolls / GBH / all gd bands who share hardly any recognition nowadays.

@ thread starter:
Maybe you should start picking music that is NOT mainstream or "charts" or whatever you may call it. If you don't like it, move on until you find the stuff that fits you.
Most stuff from the "charts" is actually trash just marketed brilliantly to make it the perfect product... I don't want to make myself look "underground", but if you dig a little deeper, especially in certain (sub-)genres, you will find the true diamonds.
There are very few(!) artists that keep their originality / individuality / "freshness" once they become popular / mainstream...
Alot of this popular stuff from Hip Hop / Rap is about drugs, chicks, cars and what not, so it usually sucks. And since I don't have a high opinion of these genres anyways, I might be biased

I think you should stop listening to music that you think is stupid, since it seems to be having an adverse affect on you:

I remember that song....it was all the rage at a school I was volunteering at 2 years ago, and they even taught me how to do the dance.
Lil Mama needs to kill herself.

Hate bands that start with a lame riff repeat it two times then the band comes in then they repeat it two times again, then comes the verse chorus verse chorus verse solo outro
lame...
seems like most of the bands do that nowadays
EDIT: As for the lyrics most of the time i cant even tell what they are singing...

That song wasn't out 2 years ago.
Shows how out of tune this forum is with popular culture, tbh.
