high reinforcment on weapons = you hit most time more
high reinforcment on gear = you take most time less dmg
if you do dmg between 500-1000. and you have high % reinforcment ( wpn ), you have more chance to hit 1000 dmg than 500 dmg.
if you take dmg between 500-1000. and have high % reinforcment ( gear ) , you have more chances to take 500 dmg than 1000 dmg
and all ints without 90 ice, gonna die like shit.

My opinion is the same as the OPs, for the chinese.
Full Str: Of course wear garment. You run faster and use less pots. You tank physical attack a tiny bit worst than armor, but you tank mag damage a lot better, good enough for you to survive a nuke so the pots can kick in.
Full Int: Wearing armor sounds like a good choice to increase survivability. But it only sounds good on theory, and do not work in action. I had a level 44 s/s full int nuker wearing good full armor. She still have a 50% chance of dying when she gets critical by lvl 49 Mujigi. This will get worst as the full int levels up. My conclusion is, if you are full int don't even bother trying to tank. Just get garment for its vast benefits.
European have no auto pot so the situation is very different. But it seems everyone just wears what they want and it won't make a differene. For example, once a warrior puts on Iron Skin or Mana Skin, or a cleric uses Bless Spell, it doesn't really matter what armor the guy was using. On the other hand, a full int wizard with NO AUTOPOT will die anyways without his allies supporting him, so once again wearing heavy armor or robe makes no difference. My conclusion for european is, wear what you think looks the best for your character class.
I am pretty sure that the phy and mag reinforcement decrease the damage you take accordingly. Not sure about if it actually increase the damage that you deals to the enemy....

yes, i agree that once int wear armour, they are very weak against other ints, i can 1 shot a pure int in armour s/s. full gear all +5 with full blue
Hence, int shld eitehr go prot or garments..... but 9D garments =.=... loook stupid...

I'm a 90% s/s int hybrid, doing 90 light 90 bich 90 ice 30 fire the usual shit, and im very hesitant about this.
True garms are Farking amazing with the mp and speed bonus, and ints would have an amazingly difficult time to kill you...
But, wouldn't a strong glavier or 2H just freaking rip you up (after ironwall is down)?
It might be necessary for me to do at least being hybrid with high leveled snow shield, as i might find myself unable to use skills which is a big no no.
I'm torn between sexy prot and comfortable garms

Well, if it was just Chinese characters still, using protector or garments would make sense. A Chinese STR character deals about as much physical damage as he does magical damage (lower balance, but higher damage numbers overall). The crits would start to really hurt of course, but you could compensate with the cold phy defense skills.
Against Euro however, things change. The STR builds deal ONLY physical damage, and the difference between garments and armor will be very clear. The only problem is snow shield. If you wear armor, you really cannot afford a 50% or even 60% snow shield; you'll be running out of MP.
I guess it all comes down to cold. If you take it up all the way, garments are probably a good choice, and the only choice if you consider snow shield. If you take it to level 60 like I do, armor or protector is probably the better choice.
